Well, I just bought the new FF album today and was thinking about how they will most likely do a big tour during the summer and that Queen's new album should be out by then. So, I was thinking how cool would it be if Queen had the Foo Fighters open for them.

...sorry? Foo Fighters to open for (and I use the title very loosely) 'Queen'? If it were to ever happen, it would no doubt be the other way around. If Freddie were alive- sure, it'd be a different story. You gotta remember that the Foo Fighters actually sell albums still.
Well, Queen + Paul Rodgers will be releasing a new album next year correct? Brian May played on the Foo's cover of Have a Cigar and Dave and Taylor guested with Brian and Roger at the Hall of Fame induction. Foo Fighters are a popular band, but Queen in any shape or form have been around for a lot longer and have a larger catelog, plus it's just a respect thing, which I'm sure Dave and co. would agree with, Queen is the bigger band. If anything they could call it a "Co-headlining tour", Queen would still close out the evening, but each band would get to play 2 hours or so... the show starts at 7 and ends at 11, no biggie.
Another Queen+ tour...wow.
Anyway, if this did happen (it won't) and if it were to be a Euramerican tour (heard that term the other day, liked it ever since), I'd imagine that Queen would open for the Foos in America, and the Foos would open for Queen in Europe.
there is no way the Foos would be support act to QPR
Queen are a medium-sized band these days with a mega-sized past. living off past glories.
the Foos are a mega-sized band...and growing in stature...why would they play second fiddle?
Thunder, why would you think that they wouldn't tour again? I thought that they've already said that was the plan after the release of the new album. And I think a co-headlining tour would be fine and no one would be deemed "second fiddle".

Exactly....but Queen does not exist as an active band. A tribute/covers band which goes under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers does though.

I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA!....
AND YES.... FOOS WOULD OF COURSE OPEN FOR THE MIGHTY QUEEN + PAUL!! ..... ((I THINK THEY WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TOO.. COME ON! ))....

as i said before...one of these bands is mega, the other is Q+PR

Indeed. It seems that some people just don't get it. Like I said before- if Freddie were still alive... sure.
Queen WERE a great band. The Foo Fighters ARE a great band. The idea that they would open for (ahem) 'Queen' is ridiculous and narrow-minded.
Harsh, but honest.

I never said anyone wouldn't tour again (double negatives, hooray!). I fully expect Q+PR will do a European tour after they release their new album, and maybe they'll hit an American megalopolis or two while they're at it. That said, the band is under no pressure whatsoever to finish this new album and release it, so don't be disappointed if you have to wait until 2009 even to see them again. I strongly doubt that another full-scale North American tour would happen, based on the less-than-stellar attendance numbers from last time.
I did say, however, that a Q+PR/Foos tour wouldn't happen. Beyond that, please don't put words in my mouth.
And why is the text on this page wider than my 19" monitor?
If this was to happen wouldn't it be much better if, instead of two band have one supergroup and a 3 hour set. The only problem I would foresee with either optiion is that the damn tickets would sell out at a silly speed. Already here in Ireland ticketmaster sell out some concerts in a matter of seconds.
I'll tell you it's not a bad idea. But i somehow dont see it happening.Either the Foos would have to play a watered down set or Queen+Paul Rodgers would have to raise their game or fear being blown off the stage. That nearly happened in Knebworth 86 when Big Country took Queen to their limits. It was touch and go for a while.
I think Brian and Roger may remember that and think "Oh no!!! Lets NOT go down that road"
Pity, though, coz it could be billed in the same way that the current Def Leppard/Whitesnake tour is billed.
