Actually Rob Pilatus is the one providing all the vocals on Queen albums. Fred was providing the hotness for the band's image, because of Rob's deformed physique.

i heard something teribble today.
is it true that freddie,s voice has ben affected because studio technology?
that some notes are pitched?
The stuff you are probably thinking of is the Queen version of I Was Born To Love You, which did use a bit of studio trickery to change the key of Freddies vocal. This happens at the 2 minute 35 second mark
Thats the only instance I know of. If you mean Freddie's voice changed because of technology, then that is bollocks.
Mr Mercury is correct. It's also on Heaven For Everyone on the 2nd "this could be heaven" bits.
With something like the Melodyne software around, it could sound even better than how it does on the album. I tried this myself and pitched Freddie's normal bit up and it sounded like he'd sung it himself. :) Wonder if it'll get changed for any upcoming sets. Hmm...
Adam.
Of course he was processed, every single track recorded is treated to make it sound better.
And certainly they will have used pitch correction on occasion as well as speeding up or slowing down if the song needed it.
All artists vocal and instrument tracks are treated in this way in professional recording stuios, sometimes it's a small amount and sometimes it's not, even Brian's guitar is processed heavily, it does't sound like that in an open natural environment.
Also Brian never used a delay machine for Brighton Rock live. They placed a speaker and microphone in Freddie's mouth, and because his teeth were so big the sound would get delayed and picked up with the microphone.
Thats why Freddie never was on stage during Brians Brighton Rock solo

It's true though.
There are also stories that Freddie's ass was so worn out by all the homo erotics that they used his asshole as an echo chamber.
Rumour has it that Phil Collins recorded the drums for his song In The Air Tonight there

Yeah I discovered this watching the video for it.
It shows the band playing it in E, which of course is what it was written in, but the recording is in F.
So they had to speed it up.

Yes - because such technology existed when the bulk of Queen recording sessions took place didn't it. They varisped vocals for effect on backing vocals.
Obviously every aspect of a studio recording is processed for release otherwise it would sound rubbish - a vocal without plenty of compression would struggle over the backing of a rock band for example.

Yes - because such technology existed when the bulk of Queen recording sessions took place didn't it. Freddie was more than capable of delivering vocal takes in tune. They varisped vocals for effect on backing vocals harmonies - but that's different.

That's just a silly rumour. It came about because someone said that Phil Collins recorded those drums in an aircraft hangar. In reality, they used to park 747s in Freddie's crack, and that's how the thing got misinterpreted.
Chinese Whispers, huh??

Freddie's voice used to raise pitch when a cock entered his rectum. This would account for his vast vocal range, due to the varying size of cock which (didn't) violate him.
