I was pretty suprised he passed away, never thought it could happen. I didn't listen to much of his work back then, but my mom has a Pavarotti and friends tape which was great to listen to,and I saw the clip of him and Brian singing too much love will kill you which was great. When I find that tape,i'll play it honor of him. Here's to you Mr.Pavarotti! |

The Real Wizard 06.09.2007 21:09 |
He was the man who, in many ways, brought opera to the mainstream. A true legend. But opera has to be the snobbiest genre of music. It is the only genre where I've ever heard of a singer (legendary, at that) being booed off the stage after his voice cracked. |

Pavarotti was the best singer of his genre since Mario Lanza 50 years ago. Even Jose Careras and Placido Domingo, the other 2 of the 3 tenors, admitted Pavarotti was the top tenor in the world. And you can't compare him and Freddie, they were completley different styles. Freddie loved opera but he was a rock n roll singer. Enough to say that another musical great has gone and the world is a poorer place for his passing. |

If you think your band is anything like Queen, get rid of the synths in some of the songs. Queen did a VARIETY and your vocalist does sound like he's singing the same damn song each time, but with alternate lyrics. As for people calling you similar to Europe, that's fine. I like that band. But using a synthesizer as the main instrument, really isn't the way to go, unless you are trying to put music in a club. It's not rock. I take it, you are the keyboardist? Why are we talking about Atheist aka TM in this thread? The thread was about Luciano Pavarotti and instead has devolved into a pissing match with Atheist aka TM. As for vocal skill, Pavarotti was technically a more skilled singer but I'd rather listen to Freddie. If Freddie had good technique he would not have blown out his voice on tour and would have been even better. I imagine the Gods are enjoying an incredible duet with Freddie and Luciano. |
