I often read that Freddie was this shy person...I mean this is rubbish, and I read an article just know where a journalist said the same thing, even though the rest of his article is biased towards negatives of freddie.
Here's the stuff i agree with
"A whole gaggle of friends in the film line up to tell us what a shy and sensitive person Mercury was. This is curious because there is plenty of video footage of him off-stage and judging by the way he is hugging and dancing with various men in gay clubs, he doesn’t look like your average shrinking violet. In truth, Mercury was a party animal who revelled in excess. In the film we hear him boast, “I’ve had more lovers than Liz Taylor.”

You can have MANY people around you and STILL be shy. As Brian himself used to say, the Freddie that you saw onstage was nothing like the Freddie offstage. I would far rather believe him than some journalist who happened to have a column of "facts" about Freddie.
It's been well documentedby Freddie's friends, family, bandmates and especially those that worked around him in Garden Lodge that he was very shy and loved his privacy. When he was in the company of friends either in groups or large gatherings YES he could be quite entertaining from what has been written and discussed about him but still he was afterall a shy person according to a lot of those same friends.

Yes i agree but videos don't deceive! He seems pretty up for a party. He wouldn't fit your average introvert. Shy? I don't know, maybe it was the drugs.
