I thought I might share some demos I put together for my music college. link I know I'm no Treasure Moment, but please - if you're going to throw vegetables, throw softly!! :) |

Garbage music. Garbage. No, actually, it's good. |
steven 35638 19.08.2007 17:42 |
I particularly enjoyed 'Missing You', especially because my lady friend will be leaving in about five days for college. It sounds like such an exquisite and emotional song, it's just breath taking. Overall your music is quite refreshing, so keep up the great work! In fact, your music has inspired me to get back to work with some of my own compositions! |
Adam Baboolal 19.08.2007 18:35 |
Yeah, I really like "Missing You" as well. Zeb, tell me you still have the recordings for that one. I'd love to mix that one and see how it turns out. The sound reminds me a lot of "It's a Beautiful Day" with Brian's guitar sound and strings sound. Or heck, if you have a nice quality MP3 to share with me, I'd love a copy. Adam. |
john bodega 20.08.2007 00:21 |
Thanks for the comments dudes... I'm very insecure about all this, these are the first songs I've ever done you see :P Adam - I do, actually! I keep everything, I'm a shit-collector :D The individual tracks on that wouldn't be all that high quality, unfortunately, but yeah - it'd be fun to hear someone elses take on it. |

I'm-a pop in to TAFE sometime in the next fortnight. AWESOME!?!?!?! NO!? Should I get Gus a coffee? |
Donna13 20.08.2007 11:17 |
I'm trying to listen to it! (My computer.) I was able to listen (in bits) last night to Missing You, and I was very impressed with the guitar playing. My gosh, you are good. The vocals - I'm hearing an influence of The Who. You should keep up with the singing I think... the most important thing is that you have feeling behind it and you are hitting the notes (which a lot of so-called singers cannot do). Very good. You should be very proud. I'll try to listen to the other songs if my computer will ever let me. Ha. |
john bodega 20.08.2007 12:57 |
iGSM - you definitely should pop in. I'm trying to get an outfit together with Chad 'n' Brodie and hilarity might ensue. Donna - cheers dude, that means heaps... I'm very self-effacing about my singing because I'm new at it. The odd thing is, as much as I dislike my voice... I can't really 'stop' now. I've pushed the button, 'n' I can't keep away from it. Hehe :) I was thinking of sending Adam an mp3 of one of these (Myspace crunched the quality into oblivion) so if you continue to have trouble.... gimme a yell! :P |

What if Zeb + Treasure Moment? |

Yeah, plus all the RIP Athiest 1991 hate-mail you'd get, replacing a legend and all... |
john bodega 20.08.2007 23:14 |
But I'm sure we'll patch up our differences in time for the next Live-Aid style show.... |
iGSM 21.08.2007 03:26 |
Chad will crap himself. I'm like the older brother that introduced him to heroin. |
The Fairy King 21.08.2007 04:10 |
You're shit!!!! TREASURE MOMENT FTW!!!! psssh...it's pretty good. ;) |

I think the problem is my slow internet connection. |

I love writing. It's like all good fiction - total bullshit! |
Adam Baboolal 23.08.2007 06:28 |
Hey Zeb, got the mp3. Thanks. Sounds real nice. Any chance of the original bits and pieces? Funnily enough, one of the first songs I wrote had this kind of structure. Nowhere near as advanced as yours, but the whole kind of "Bijou" thing going on, i.e. solo - words - solo stuff. Adam. |
john bodega 23.08.2007 10:40 |
Hey man, I could probably get those together for you... would sufficiently high bitrate mp3s of each track (drums strings + so on) be okay? I could always put up WAV or AIFF but the equipment I used to record these isn't all that special, so it'd be a bit of overkill. For the record - the guitar parts were recorded clean and then run through Guitar Rig 2. I could send you the guitar stuff as it appears now, or I could always send you the raw shit if you wanted to try and get a better sound! :) |
Adam Baboolal 23.08.2007 16:24 |
Definitely want wav/aiff!! Retain the best sounds. Also, use your guitar rig stuff, cause I don't want to mess with your sounds. I like what I hear on the track. So, your main tracks and the guitar tracks (processed). Cheers dude! Adam. |
john bodega 24.08.2007 00:40 |
Sure thing then dude, I'll get onto those sometime over the weekend! |
john bodega 25.08.2007 11:50 |
Heya Adam, Sent you some Rapidshare links. Lemme know how it goes! |
Adam Baboolal 28.08.2007 08:30 |
Just checked them and need help on them. Btw, could you use Mediafire.com or Savefile.com as they don't restrict on how much you can download at any particular time. Took a few hours to get those files. Adam. |
Donna13 30.08.2007 22:37 |
I was able to listen to the other songs a couple times each this past week and I think they are really cool. You should be very proud. I am able to listen to about a 5 second section, then it's about 10 seconds of silence (due to my connection speed). Are you going to do videos for all of them? |
iGSM 31.08.2007 02:36 |
Are you performing again at TAFE this year? Y'should be by my recollection. Anyway I'm thinking you should do Subterranean Homesick Blues. It's the law! |
john bodega 31.08.2007 12:16 |
"Are you going to do videos for all of them?" OOOH you know.... I *really* would like to make videos for a couple of those songs, especially since 'Missing You' is longer now. But you know?? I'm a bit self conscious to do the whole 'miming at the camera' thing :) At least in a serious context... That - and I don't have a wind machine or a cliff. "Are you performing again at TAFE this year?" EVENTUALLY..... God knows how long it'll be. I should be getting at least two more performances. I definitely want to throw down Baba O'Riley at one of them, and my last performance will definitely feature some guitar..... err...... abuse! |

That - and I don't have a wind machine or a cliff.Forget about the cliff idea, especially combined with a wind machine. That could be your last video moment. Although I can "see" a person throwing a guitar off a cliff onto the rocks 1,000 feet below. That would work in California. Oh, well. Your artistic ideas are much better than mine! |
john bodega 31.08.2007 15:55 |
Haw-haw, Nah - the wind machine/cliff thing is just a standing joke I have concerning music videos. Though.... you know..... it'd be pretty funny. |

Zebonka12 wrote: Haw-haw, Nah - the wind machine/cliff thing is just a standing joke I have concerning music videos. Though.... you know..... it'd be pretty funny.Definitely! I think you should use a wind machine - especially with all your hair to blow around. Ha. I'm not afraid of heights really, but cliffs scare me. |
