i will be traveling to the caymans for 9 days! im a little nervous, my best friend is coming with me (and its her first time flying), and so is my mom. ive flown a few times, and i usually get a little nervous before a trip (i hate flying). i dont think i have much to worry about, i think in the back of my mind im nervous that we'll hit a snag due to passport issues. she doesnt have hers yet, buti triple checked on how she can still go, and there shouldnt be too much of a problem....
i guess i just want assurance that things will be fine, and im just paranoid lol. sorry if this seems like some cry for attention or something, thats not why im mentioning this. i guess i want to know, how many have traveled this summer, and should i be worried about this kind of thing? or again, am i just paranoid?
^^ and cool accents at that!!!
but has anyone had problems this year? i went last year, so people would think 'ive done this before, no biggie' but i still cant help but worry that something could go wrong, simply cuz my friend is coming with me, and i want her first experience flying to be decent. im mostly worried ill get stuck somewhere (at some point me and my friend will be split from my mom) and we wont really have any means of communication (our phones wouldnt work there)
that and i hate sitting on a plane >.<
i think im just paranoid. i just want things to run smoothly!
well my friend got her passport so thats all good. i only have another day then i will be in the carribean! i feel much better after hearing that. all im anxious about now is getting there in one piece!
It might intensify by Monday - according to the latest. I wouldn't want to be in a Category 5 hurricane. Best to evacuate if possible. Hope she is able to get a flight out of there soon.
just been watching sky news and people in the caymans have been given warnings to be ready for DEAN.i hope our little bird is safe there.
[thinking of her]
Well, the head of the Cayman Islands Red Cross was just interviewed on the Weather Channel and he seemed quite relieved that the hurricane is passing to their south (by about 105 miles I think). He said they had a few downed trees, but no major damage. I heard they had a gust of 53 miles per hour, which isn't too bad.
oh guys....thank you so much for your concerns :) you have no idea what that means to me.
were fine, and everyone is in one piece. were tired, and broke, but were here. we had to be evacuated and we got our tickets early. we waited outside the airport saturday night for 7 hours (they were behind on schedule) then once we went thru all the hoopla, we sat on the plane for an hour, then left to ft lauderdale, stayed there for 2 days and now im home. i just got an email from my family there, they lost power for 12 hours, and will start recovering tomorrow. everyone there is safe, it sounds like there were no casualties. jamaica got the worst of it, and i think they only had 1 or 2 people hurt.
so again, it almost brought me to tears knowing you were all thinking of me. im glad to know im loved hehe.
the more disappointing part wasnt so much that, but my friend that came with me basically made up her mind when she got there that she didnt want to be there anymore, then got sick, so she complained the whole time, amd made everything seem like shit....and mom didnt get to really enjoy herself, cuz she was spending the whole time making sure we were gonna be ok and stuff. i actually had some fun there, but because of those factors, it just wasnt easy. hopefully now that this is over, my anxiety will die down.
im hoping to return in winter, when hurricaine season is over, and celebrate my bday there.
again, thank you for your kind thoughts. i really appreciate it. im already feeling a little more cheered up.
