Hi all, I was on youtube before and on one of the videos I clicked on, it had the audio of Under Pressure from Knebworth on it. The quality of it was excellent and I was wondering if it was a soundboard recording like the other tracks from “Live Magic”
Here’s the link: link
Can anyone confirm this?
Cheers
Dave
This is called the "Knebworth Mix" and it's available on one of the 1999 Under Pressure (Rah Mix) singles. link
The Mike Spencer mix is also quite good btw.
Everyone is talking about the knebworth video, that it should be such a great gig. Well I don;t think so, fred's voice was horrible and he was screaming his lungs out. Samples can be heared at the Live magic release... Most of you say that Knebworth wasn't filmed , and even greg claimes there are one "utterly boring"auience shots on video tape availble.... But if it wasn't recorded on film then what footage of "is this the world we created?"was on magic years 3 , that was a full song with torches on the left and right side of the stage.... It doens;t make sence knebworth wasn;t recorded on film, though we have a complete good camere shoot of is this the world on magic years 3 .... well greg anything to add on this ?
Though freddie's voice was shit on knebworth if you ask me...I'd prefer budapest (or even wembley!)
i maybe wrong isnt "is this the world created" taken from the 1st night at wembley? & i thought the only two taken from budapest was magic & pressure & hammer taken from 2nd night at wembley & the rest taken from knebworth but i aint listened to it for ages
Is This The World We Created? full video version from Magic Years and Champions Of The World video is 100% from Knebworth. It matches perfectly the audience recording of this concert. Also Freddie had a different outfit on there than on the Budapest video.
The way that has been explained before, and makes sense to me, is that DoRo were there for documentary purposes and captured bits of Knebworth, but not the full show. It was never their duty to record full shows, just interviews, behind the scenes stuff, and of course re-editing existing works ;)
Wow, I never heard this Knebworth version of UP before. It's great! Love the "WHYYY" middle bit, Freddie really goes for it as if he knows for sure this is would be the last time.
Adding to what I've heard on Live Magic of Knebworth '86, I really love this Magic Tour show apart from the fact that it was their last. Freddie's voice is in much better shape here compared to Wembley, and I like the overall live mix way better (Red Special doesn't sound so "garbly", Roger's drums have more impact, and the audience is louder).
Although releasing another Magic Tour show to the general public probably would not be very succesful, I certainly would't mind if QP decides to make the complete Knebworth audio available for download for a reasonable price for the fans like the Q+PR European live downloads.
Why the hell any gig on Holland wasn't completly filmed - Queen know that this audience is always fantastic and for sure it will be fabulos official stuff - not only on video. What a big shame.
