i've noticed over the years that many of you here are not very fond of these two songs. i was just wondering why that is. i've always thought them to be great pop songs with great melodies. in my opinion, they're certinly better than " invisible man" and " breakthru". well i have to get back to my dishes. |

well i dont so there you go - horses for courses |

I like my baby does me, and I dont mind Rain Must Fall, but if you really listen to them, breakthru and Invisible man are much better in terms of song writing and in composition. But it's all about personal opinion =) M.H |

Both songs aren't as attractive in terms of depth and complexity, which most Queen fans have become used to. |
louvox 06.08.2007 13:49 |
They are simply two of the worst songs ever written by Queen, lyrically & musically. |
Russian Headlong 06.08.2007 15:26 |
Because they represent the lightweight pap that had lost many Queen of its metal fans from the 70's, they are typical of the disco/dance/crap that Freddie and John were pushing from Hot Space right up until Innuendo. The Miracle was supposed to be a return to Queen's Hard Rock Roots. In reality it was a mix of lightweight pop, some rockers and ballads just as the works, AKOM and Innuendo were. |
AlexRocks 06.08.2007 18:32 |
I like these songs a bunch myself! "The Miracle" is PHENOMENAL as far as I'm concerned! Of course I think all, eh, most of Queen's recordings are! |
ITSM 06.08.2007 19:08 |
I think My Baby Does Me is one of the best songs on The Miracle. I agree that The Invisible Man is a lot worse. But at first when I was a little boy, I thought the opposite... Rain Must Fall is OK, but not among the top 3, in my opinion... ...but I'm also one of the few who likes Delilah : ) |

There is not much rock at all on "The Miracle" other than "I want it all" and "Was it all worth it" |

<Very well said. There is not much rock at all on <"The Miracle" other than "I want it all" and "Was <it all worth it" How about Party Khashoggi's Ship Scandal Hang On In There + I Want It All Was It All Worth It That's six out of 11 tracks. |

What has Party to do with rock ? |

ACTUALLY I use to think that "Party" and "Kashogi's Ship" were absolutely atrocious BUT I have since changed my mind understanding what they are and that is that one they are two pop songs that actually are o.k. BUT they are even better to the point of being great when you pay attention and realize that the whole "innuendo" proccess has started with the last three studio l.p.s from "The Mircale" to "Innuendo" to "Made In Heaven" about certain ideas of life and Freddie's personal life as well. Very smart stuff going on there that blows my mind to no end. VERY creative work in my opinion. I am quite glad for it to be honest. |

I LOVE Queen "At The BBC" as it was called and released here in the U.S. of A. on Hollywood Records. LOVE IT! |

The middle section of Party is pretty rock actually, where the real drums kick in above the programmed ones |

I wrote that the two songs "My baby does me & Rain must fall" are two of worst songs Queen has produced. Second, "A kind of magic" is by far their worst album in my opinion and although "Hot Space" is a shitty record I give them credit for at least trying something new.louvox wrote: They are simply two of the worst songs ever written by Queen, lyrically & musically.Oh my god, now you're attacking The Miracle! Chill out Louvox. And no, you've never said one nice thing about Hot Space. If you have, please provide a link to the thread. Any thread. Anytime you've said something nice about Hot Space. Thought so. |

Anytime you've said something nice about Hot Space. Thought so.link "Album Reviews" Hot space ½ I am all for artist trying new things, but there is nothing new here. All you have here is bad disco, funk & techno recorded with no heart, soul or inspiration. The production quality is just plain awful. It’s hard to believe that same group who gave us “Bo Rap” also gave us “Body language”. I will admit the live versions of “Staying power, “Calling all girls” & “Back chat” show potential. Had they recorded that album with the same drive & depth as the live recordings it probably would have faired better. Strongest song: “Under pressure” "You didn't think so" |
Micrówave 17.08.2007 12:37 |
Exactly. So where did you say something nice about Hot Space? I've read it three times now and yet to see a compliment. Songs done live aren't on Hot Space. Sorry Lou, you didn't help your case any. |

Sorry Lou, you didn't help your case any.You must be blind as well as stupid. If you like that album, more power to you. I still consider it to be a shitty album all things considered. As I wrote the live versions of the songs from "Hot space" (ie Staying power, Back chat & Calling all girls) sound great live. Show a lot of potential. That is about the nicest thing your gonna get out of me concerning that album. I am not knocking them for trying something different. Instead of taking disco, funk, techno & dance music and making it their own, the simply copied what others had done before in a rush to cash in on the success of "Another one bites the dust" The entire production of that album sounds flat & unispired. The only really good song on that thing is "Under pressure" and that was released 7 months earlier. I can give you 100 reasons why that's a shitty record, but I bet you couldn't give 5 good reasons why it would a good record. |
