Here's an audio recording of a US TV show from 1978 featuring a salute to Queen. I edited out most of the music. Songs featured were "Somebody to Love", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "You're My Best Friend", and "We Are the Champions". The tape runs out during "Champions" so I don't know if there was more, but I doubt it.
The narrator of the salute (and the announcer of the show) is Wolfman Jack.
This doesn't contain any new info, but I just like hearing Wolfman Jack (someone I grew up listening to) talk extremely positively and somewhat informatively about Queen back in the seventies. This may mean more to North Americans than anyone else. link
(The Midnight Special, episode 237 (audio extract), first aired 3/17/78, 2 minutes 15 seconds, 22MB)
The Midnight Special ran every Friday on NBC (after the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) from 1973 to 1981. It featured live music with an occasional video tribute to a band or a singer. Queen never appeared live on the show.

I remember trying to stay up to watch this when it first aired back then. It was a struggle but I made it. They played videos of those songs which I never saw before and I was just GLUED to the tv. Thanks for the memory!
Thanks so much. :) I wish we could get alot more Radio/TV promo's and guest spot items on here, these are more important and more rare then anything in my opinion.
