I haven't watched many gigs, but The Hammersmith one came out from TV last friday, but it ended to the rock medley... Weird. |

alexmax87 03.07.2007 07:28 |
Thanks a lot...I was waiting for this!!! But I have a question..I have a copy of this show (without rock'n'roll medley) all from FM -> CDR(1) -> WAV [44.1kHz] -> FLAC [Level 8] included also GSTQ..Is "Source3(**): ESKIMO's first gen tape from BBC broadcast" different by the other source "FM -> CDR(1) -> WAV [44.1kHz] -> FLAC [Level 8]" ? |
Wilki Amieva 03.07.2007 08:24 |
May I be an absolute annoyance and say that if this is near-perfection (indeed) then a pre-FM source would be perfection? |
somebody13 03.07.2007 09:36 |
alexmax87, Wilki Amieva// sorry... i can't understand your talks well. i'm not familiar English because I'm Korean. please tell me more easy vocabulary? |
somebody13 03.07.2007 09:37 |
a failure. pass this please |
somebody13 03.07.2007 09:38 |
a failure. pass this please |
onevsion 03.07.2007 10:01 |
Wilki is trying to say that there is a pre-FM audio available for a large part of the tracks. This is slightly better (more range) than the FM version. |
somebody13 03.07.2007 10:14 |
ah.. now I understand it. I don't have PRE-FM source although I have a lot of hammy75 boot. I did my best but if someone may do this better than I did. please do it I'll really appreciate it. |
alexmax87 03.07.2007 10:35 |
I've download GSTQ from here link and I notice that GSTQ has a different source (FM -> CDR(1) -> WAV [44.1kHz] -> FLAC [Level 8]) from your share, can you see? :-) I was only askin (if you have listened GSTQ from the source that I tell you) what source is better. Don't worry, my english too is not very clear :-D thanks a lot anyway |
somebody13 03.07.2007 10:44 |
Eskim0's three tracks have little hiss. two track is available many other boot in better quality but Eskim0'sGSTQ is only available source in lossless form. that's why I replaced two Eskim0's track with the other FM source and left GSTQ track. |
pittrek 03.07.2007 11:42 |
Eh, sorry, REALLY sorry, somebody13, but I MUST to say it - unfortunatelly also Freddie's speech before Liar is slightly cut :( I'm trying to upload the complete file but rapidshare wants to do it 420 minutes :( |

Somebody13, I posted the pre-fm source awhile back. |
somebody13 04.07.2007 01:29 |
I didn't know that. but you can sure PRE-FM sound match with my VHS and other source for complete? Every hammy boots had little different sound. I was compiled some other hammy boots but it result was awkward. your PRE-FM source maybe the best quality available but compiled result with other is unknown that it'll make the best result |
pittrek 04.07.2007 01:37 |

Can't wait :) It would be really great to have 100% complete version of this great gig. BTW sorry for asking that, but would it be a problem for you to also capture the video to the Bob Harris intro ? The one shared by frank39 here some time ago began in the middle of his speech, and your audio begins during the OGWT theme. If you can't thanks anyway. |
J R Deaky 06.07.2007 20:31 |
I actually saw that gig when it was first broadcast live on 24 Dec 1975 @ 10 pm British time and ,as we had no VCRs or DVD recorders at that time,i recorded the audio using an old cassette recorder, the tape for which has long since disappeared as i had managed to get a recording from someone's bootleg lp. The BBC broadcasted the same gig about 1983ish but minus the word "Christmas" and the Rock n Roll medley because they were broadcasting it in the middle of June of that year and it is from this broadcast that many of the Torrents you get nowadays has come from. For some unknown reason the Rock n Roll medley turned up on another programme,i think maybe an OGWT special broadcast around 1986ish. You guys can keep me right on that point.Ok buds!!! =D |

When I try to download track 9 (fixed: Liar) from page 1 I get an error. Either the page will not load or the download stops after some MB. Is anyone else having the same problem? Thanks. |

Some comments: first I am hearing the two versions, this and the other one intitled "(1975-12-24) Hammersmith Westwood One source", and I think the second is in a wide stereo, and the first is in a flat stereo (seems mono). But I'm detecting that if you hear both to compare, the first has the delay in the intro of Now Im Here with two repeats and the "(1975-12-24) Hammersmith Westwood One source" has only one. That's my questions if it second repeat is something added artificialy or it is real in the show, and in the second version don't have this.? |

Indeed, these two versions come from completely different mixes off the soundboard. But they are both definitely stereo sound (although the "Sanity Clause" source from Swedish radio is a wider stereo). |

A question - I've read in some other thread that also before White Queen Freddie should say "christmas toast" instead of "toast". What do you say to it, somebody13, can you verify it ? |
The Real Wizard 11.07.2007 11:17 |
Actually, I just remembered... I have the original OGWT broadcast on SVCD. So, here's Freddie's speech after Ogre Battle: "Right now Queen would like to drink a special Christmas toast to everybody here, all the viewers. So cheers!" I've updated my website's Hammersmith entry with all the comments that were edited for later broadcasts. Have a look! |

pittrek wrote: SirGH : a suggestion - maybe you could also write on your website not only WHEN you updated it but also WHAT you've updated.Yeah, that's a good idea. It sure beats having people check every page! freddie lives wrote: SVCD? Doesn't everyone have this concert on DVD, sourced from QTV? The DVD I'm talking about has an option to play the 3 missing audio tracks not broadcast as part of OGWT.Nope, I haven't got this one. In fact, I didn't know they showed this at fan conventions. How's the quality? Can you post a/v samples? |
freddie lives 28817 12.07.2007 19:49 |
Well I've always thought the quality was as good as I was ever going to get - it looks pretty much spot on to me. It was obviously recorded before terrestrial channel 5 started over here in the UK as QTV broadcasts since then have been shocking and full of ghosting. (For those that don't know, the chalets in the holiday camps that the UK conventions are held in all have TV's which have their own holiday camp channel. During convention, this channel is taken over as QTV which shows only Queen stuff. The frequency was clean at one point, but then channel 5 started broadcasting in the late 1990's and unfortunately their frequency was close to the one used by the holiday camp. The camp has never bothered to change its transmission frequency so QTV now is plagued with ghosting from channel 5.) Downside to the concert is "QTV" in the bottom corner and it's also timecoded. Apart from that it's the original OGWT showing, which is great. I'll post some screenshots when I can - my Queen collection currently resides at my Mums... |
The Real Wizard 13.07.2007 00:32 |
Cool... looking forward to seeing them. Thanks for all the info. |
pittrek 13.07.2007 01:32 |
Are those 3 tracks real ? Or is it just the audio playing with re-created video ? |
freddie lives 28817 13.07.2007 03:37 |
It's just the audio of the three tracks that weren't broadcast on TV against a static image. They are accessible from the menu as a seperate option and NOT edited into the TV programme. I've had this DVD for seven years, and have always assumed that when people on here talk about QTV recordings on DVD, that this DVD was one of the recordings they were talking about. Maybe not. This just highlights the reasons I started a thread saying it would be a good idea to "catalogue" all the DVDs that people have collected over the years by submitting screenshots of menus and a few screengrabs of the concerts themselves so we can all see the picture quality. |
pittrek 13.07.2007 05:12 |
