the rest of the knowledgeable and adult Queen posters on this site.... Some still remain, but.... a shame that it has degenerated into what it has become in the past couple of months. A place where I could learn so much, and on occasion, share a bit of knowledge. Pity that there is not SOME sort of moderation (hint, hint, Barb and Richard). A site I used to check often on a daily basis, is now weekly. What happened to a reasonable amount of civility? just my two pence |

I'm still here and will never leave but yes, 95% of the people that are posting on this board currently are idiots. They use this board as a chat forum and as their personal playground. They change their nick's more than I change my underwear. I can't tell who is who so if you want me to read your threads, you had better keep the same nick bc I don't read threads of people I don't know who they are. Maybe the rest of you do, but I suggest you don't. No one that I care to read their threads switches their nickname every other day. Quite frankly and quite rudely, which I do not like to be, if you change your nick constantly then you are too dumb for me to read your posts. As much as I hate to say that, it's true. I am a respected member of this forum and if you don't care about respected members reading your posts then you are exactly the people that can fuck off to some other board. The quality that QZ had/has is the freedom to post your opinions, your thoughts, your interesting news without being moderated. This makes us different from all other boards. The morons that are posting on here have abused that freedom and that priviledge. So I wait, I still check the board, still post when I find the few and far between posts worthy of my keystrokes. I won't give up and neither should any of the elder members who used to contribute to this board to make it the great place that it was. It still is great, just bruised for now. I don't like to call people bad names or resort to name calling, but I will call it how I see it if it's worth my time and I think it will make a difference. My advice is this and you all can take it or leave it, this goes for everyone..when an idiot or a moron makes a ridiculous thread, ignore it, please don't post in it. Don't tell them how stupid they are, they already know it. All they want is you to post in their thread to keep bumping it up. Ignore all the shit and you'll be surprised how the shit will start to disappear. Do not feed the fire and we will have our beloved QZ back. If you've been on this board longer than 2 years then you know what it used to be like. Do NOT add to the crap that is littering this board, EVER. Leave it be, they'll get bored and move on. The administrators of this board are getting fed up, that I can assure all of you on. If our freedom of speech gets taken away bc a few rotten apples have spoiled it, I can guarantee you're all going to regret it and miss it. Keep that in mind the next time you contribute to an asshole's thread. |

<Font color=Puce> Deaky's <h6> Sweetie. wrote: does that mean I'm an immature little brat?Well, let's see.. this is what you posted earlier today in the Queen section: "....and so what if She was a Fred fan? It doesn't even fucking matter, and why the fuck did I read this shit anyways?? my birthday night is ruined because I'm now in the mood to hate you - good job on starting a nice enemy! and while I'm swearing,Repeating myself, probably not making any fucking sense and most likely making an arse of myself (Which I do anyways so I don't see why I'm bringing it to anyone's immediate attention) - you really need to get over every bloody thing, so what if he's not on some stupid website, and so what if he doesn't want to do that fucking concert?? I mean at least he's not wasting all his time on this website (I can because I'm not allowed to have a life for another three days) and with that I kick sand and dirt in your face, fart and sneeze in your general direction and spit at your feet - Have a nice day" Is "immature little brat" a fitting description? And if yes - will you abstain from littering the board with such posts in the future? It would be a good start. It's the volume of crappy, brainless posts that drives intelligent people away. Adult posters give up because it's just too tedious to work yourself through all the senseless "random" stuff. I agree with Lisser on every word. |

wstüssyb wrote: We have these topics every year. People in hell want Ice water, deal with it.I would dare say every month. I think it's quite ironic that every few months Queenzone can repeatedly go from "satisfactory" to "trash," and then repeat the cycle all over again while contrarily maintaining a consistently downward slope. There will always be problems, whether it's an offensive new member, a quarrel between two regulars, or a wave of new, young fans. I personally find it refreshing to know that so many young people are interested in Queen's legacy - so many new ones every year. Each of these people will grow into mature and respectable fans like the rest of us, in due time. It doesn't excuse their current behavior (which I don't think is manageable anyway), but for me, it gives me a little hope - rather than hopelessness. Edit: It's also understandable that these newcomers don't really know enough about Queen to discuss them. However, I don't often see many regulars who are willing to indoctrinate Queen's legacy and history (no matter how trite or insignificant) to them. |
***Marial-B*** 30.06.2007 11:54 |
What Brian says is absolutly right. I mean lately I don't complain about their behaviour, I just make my posts whenever I want and about what I want. I just aviod some spots like the General discussions forum. I mean, some questions are dumb, so that's why I don't talk there too much. |

It's not actually the aresholes on this site that make it no good any more for me - for the past few years I have been able to glance over forums with a sort of mental filter meaning that for the most part I only read posts from people I recognise. What makes this site a shadow of it's former self is that the vast majority of the prople that I really got on well with don't post here any more, or only post here very very rarely. But I accept this is mostly to do with people moving on in life, and happens everywhere. It's nobody's fault. |

On the outskirts of Queenzone, set among five and a half acres of well kept gardens, stands the Queenzone retirement home. At around 5.00am each morning Richard Orchard does his rounds and checks to see if any of the residents have copped their wack during the night. Those that have are discreetly removed and taken to QOL before breakfast is served in the Gordondoburstingfoam memorial dining room. While the residents are waking up to the smell of the coffee, old Ted is sitting in his chair by the staring window. He's still screaming after a night of bad dreams in which rastafarian Queen fans have been ransacking his shop. One of the care assistants makes the mistake of asking which side of his toast old Chad would like buttered and he launches into a four hour tirade, accusing the care assistant of being a homophobe. At around 8.00am, the postman arrives with nine sacks of hate mail for old Dark Myuutwo. Despite the fact that there are eleven letterbombs and 24 turds in shoeboxes, Old Dark Myuutwo seems blissfully unaware of any bad feeling towards him. At 9.00am the Day room doors are unlocked and the residents are free to listen to their Queen records (Vinyl, might I add), watch television or play games. Old fatty and old Bob The Shrek gather around the chess board to continue their game which has now been going on for the past 18 months. This is mailnly because neither of the sad old bastards actually knows how to play chess. Old fatty thinks he's playing Kerplunk while old Bob The Shrek keeps shouting BUCKAROO! All of a sudden there's a loud bang from a broom cupboard and out of the smoke appears old Deaconjohn. His illegal still has exploded. There'll be no potcheen for the next couple of weeks and Deaconjohn has just shat the pair of underpants his great grandson sent him for Christmas. Old Taylormayed is sitting in front of the television watching the latest series of Doctor Who and moaning about how it's more like a fucking soap opera than a science fiction serial these days. After lunch (soup with jelly and ice cream for afters)that nice chap Greg Brooks from Queen productions comes to pay a visit. He has a suitcase full of rare Queen recordings he wants to show the residents. He doesn't open the case of course. He just shows it to the residents and fucks off again. After dinner (steamed vegetables followed by semolina pudding) the residents fie through to the visiting room in the vain hope that someone will be coming to see them. Old Pieter and old Erin stare out of the window looking for one of their nine children or 33 grandchildren for a full hour to no avail. At 8.00pm the residents are getting ready for bed and Richard and Barb are wheeling the medication trolley down the corridors. By 8.30pm all is quiet in the Queenzone retirement home exept for the screaming in room 101. "THE NIGGERS ARE COMING, THE NIGGERS ARE COMING. WE ALL NEED TO WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE.!" fatty. |

Amazing, fatty, I see that coming - except for the chess part, in fact it's flipper and both of you claim that you once beat Brian May in a legendary flipper game. PG hangs out in dark corners smoking a cigarette and he and myself still giggle about Chuffy not getting Jamie's "purple vein, purple vein" joke in Gosport and about Dudley's "ready steady cook" hoax. We all believe the convention in Edmonton actually happened - with iron eagle doing the sexxy dance. Lisa G wants an alarm system built in to protect her 100 000 $ collection, Eric and Demeter send us postcards from the arctic where they watch the pole melt. Allie James mixes up all our birthdays while Fun-It sends Richard complaints about the invasion of the Queenrockers. Oppo has written a book about The Cross which nobody ever bought, so he became an alcoholic and scares people with periodical outbursts of fury. fatty quits smoking - again John Stuart has an extra room for the Hangman acetate wstüssyb gets on our nerves telling us every day that there is a full Mannheim video, he just has not managed to track it down yet. He has an odd addiction to melons... Fried Chicken and Pim Derks are delusional - they believe they are Milli Vanilli and headlined Rock in Rio. I never had the good fortune in actually getting to experiance Queenzone in it's glorious shine that once was. I understand that the new wave of Queenzoners that I'm a member of are complete and utter degenerates, but just as somebody else has said they will change. For as new as I am I hope that the older and more experianced Queenzoners will accept me. I may not have contributed as much as most of you, but I'm only getting started with this life, as it were. I truly find this place to be a chance for me to learn more about this wonderful band, and maybe even share some of my own knowledge. Afterall, I have been a fan of Queen since July of 2003 and since then have collected memorabelia constantly. Finally, I would like to add that I admire the veterans here on Queenzone, not because of your knowledge and experiance, but because of your generosity and overall personality. You guys know a thing or two and I hope to learn from your actions. I must say that I despise the majority of our newbies (other than myself), it's embarrasing for people like me. |

I rarely post, but I've been reading the general, serious and personal forums for years. The "childish" topics, new fans etc actually don't bother me that much. I think these golden ages of Queenzone only exist in retrospect (as someone's mentioned already). What bothers me is the time and effort that a lot of people quite clearly put into arguing about ultimately trivial matters (although I will admit to being amused by it). Healthy debate is fine. But if you're so offended by what someone's written it's probably best to ignore it. |

Why is it, I've been wondering, that just because people read my profile and see that I'm a teenager, are so quick to judge that.... A)i typ lyk dis (n i luv rojer!) B)I change my nick 50 times a day C)I have the IQ of a 2 year old D)I'm a complete twat who knows and cares nothing about Queen except that "Freddie is hot and how long was his cock?". I've changed my name about 3 times since I first came here about 2 years ago. Vishnu wasn't much of a name change; I decided I liked the name and, on a whim one day, wanted people here to call me it. A lot of people here knew that I went by Vishnu before I changed my username to it. I also speak very good English for a person who's main language is German (I speak it at home all the time). I despise "PC Talk" and the like. Quite contrary to popular belief, i AM smart and I don't appreciate threads like the one that was created a few weeks ago accusing me and a few others of having an IQ of 2. And I do love Queen, but I don't find any of the band members hot, and I don't want to fuck Freddie or measure his cock. I can't stand being lumped in with the stereotypical idiots because of my age. And I know a lot of other people here around the same age that feel the same way. :S |

Janet wrote: Now, I love it that new fans are getting into Queen and, I do have some great relationships with younger Zoners. But if we are honest, other than being polite to each other and being respectful, a 13 year old girl and a 46 year old woman probably don't have a whole lot to talk about.Same with me, I can't relate to most teenagers here. I have no idea who most of the people are on here these days, and I don't bother reading most of the posts. |

the problem with the ol' timers lurking in the shadows is that us newer ol' farts[me being 37] dont get to chat with you, we are not psychic you know and get lumbered with the kids if you keep quiet.mind you, saying that most of them can be quite witty and have a knowledgable side to them when they want to and ive not actually had any problems with them and they dont give it "the big i am" which ive noticed some of the older ones do.this place can be very cliquey and closed shop at times which doesnt help matters if you want everyone to get to know each other better. ive a few of the more maturer younger ones that contact me with Queen related questions which i help them with but even though ive been a fan for 30 years i dont know "the in's and outs of a ducks arse" regarding all things queen as we cornish say and i feel like im Obi Wan with Luke Skywalker with a few of them when to be honest they need Yoda's guidance. jox |

I've never once made age an issue with my suggestions. I will never say that "teens" are bad for the board, I will never say any age is bad for the board. The only thing that is bad for the board in my opinion is I can't get to know anyone when I can keep track of who is who with all the name changes and color changes. I don't appreciate it when people feed the trolls or make chat threads either. Again, where have I ever said this is an age related problem? Age is nothing but a number and no one on here can ever accuse me of saying this is a 13-17 year old problem, etc. Joxer, I love your posts to death and I always read them when I see you post, so no worries for you on my end. Not that that makes any difference to you :) but I do enjoy very much, what you contribute. Your posts make me laugh a lot, A LOT! But if you ever do change your nick, I probably won't read your posts bc I won't know it's you :(. I doubt you will change your nick though ya know? I've made suggestions and people can do what they want. I'm not saying my suggestions will make or break this board bc they won't. This board will always be here and it will never be a utopia, but I'll be damned if I let it go to the dogs or if I will ever contribute to its demise. As long as I breath I'll do my part to keep this board enjoyable for me and the wonderful friends I've made here. It's really not that hard to behave yourself and be respectful of others. I am respectful of everyone on this board. If anyone on here has ever been disrepected by me, then you can bet your ass you've more than deserved it. It takes a little more than a troll or a moron to get a rise out of me. You have to be really good to get my panties in a wad. It's yet to happen but feel free to get in line and take a number if you want to try. Pack your lunch though. PS-Hi Robin!!! :) |

It was a hot, dark Tuesday night at the Black Horse Pub in London's west end. It had been a drought year, Hyde park was brown, but the drinks flowed nonstop around a poker game in the bar's smoky back room. Staring intently at one another, a black panther, spotted leopard, an emperor penguin, and a giant tortoise all eyeballed the pile of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and Coke bottle caps scattered across the table. The black panther wearing aviator glasses purred, "Darling, I'll sing until my throat is as raw as a vulture's crotch. But I'm raising you fifty thousand." She pushed a pile of glittering ice across the green embroidered with gold fleur-de-leis. The emperor penguin squawked. "I just like the fat, loud sound of it." He plunged his beak into the Guinness draft at his feet and drank it down. As a belch erupted, several gold nuggets flew from his flipper onto the jackpot. "Backchat ya." The spotted leopard laughed. "I'm not climbing Mount Everest again. I don't pretend to undertsand the workings of the journalistic mind. Just gimme more of that jazz, man." The cat adjusted his round, violet-tinted shades, and thrust his paw over the growing mound of wealth amassed. A pair of keys attached to a phoenix keychain dropped, sparkled and jingled from the summit to the foot. "It's a Lamborghini F-16.." "You know I don't drive, how dare you!" The panther screeches. She knocks over her glass of champagne into the sterling silver bowl of Swedish caviar at her feet, immediately gorging herself. "She's got a point," the giant tortoise whispers, in a nasal voice that stretches time itself over each and every syllable, echoing ponderously off the walls. The giant tortoise turns his eyes, turns his head, turns his neck and focuses on his hand of cards. "And I call all of yous. Four aces, and a fortune cookie fortune from dinner that says I'm going to win at poker tonight. Spread 'em an' beg!" "Oh noooooooooooooo," the three chums chorus. Two jaws fangy and a beak drop open. Suddenly, thunder booms from somewhere overhead, outside, reverberating, rattling the whole building. "All power to the people!" the black panther shouted. The front door of the pub exploded open in the main bar beyond. Chunks of oak and glass spray the room. The emperor penguin and the giant tortoise scurried to squeeze all the loot inside the giant tortoise's shell. The panther and leopard rearranged all the drinks, bottles, jugs, kegs, and basins of liquor into a neat stack on the poker table. The leopard broke open a pack of poker chips and sprinkled them across the top of the tortoise's shell. The vampire pharaoh wanders in with an evil grin, flashing its teeth at the bartender, tender, desperate lad obsessed with auditioning for boy bands, who fell to the floor behind the bar. "Where's my lunch money?!" The vampire pharoah screams, throwing open his black leather cloak to reveal a Hechler & Koch automatic pistol in a hip holster. "Those tokens are painted platinum, I swear it's true. I'll take it all now!" The vampire pharaoh whips out his pistol, and fires at the poker match. The leopard and panther leap away into the kitchen, as bullets tore up the frame of a velvet painting of Elvis Presley. The emperor penguin power-waddled to the opposite side of the room, toward a door marked 'Alpha Centauri.' In the haze and confusion, all the remaining bullets ricochet off the giant tortoise's shell, right into the bloodshot eyes of the vampire pharoah. "And another one gone," the tortoise shouts hoarsely from deep inside that cavernous shell. |

I'm 27, so I can be able to chat with oldies and teens. What bugs me sometimes is they get obnoxious with the chat threads. It's good sometimes to make responses so quickly, but not all the time. I know I did stupid things to this borad, like the time of the 400th someting thread and the next day asking for being removed out of qzone, but since I've been living my life (And I really mean it) I can see qzone as an escape and as a way to comunicate with some of you who I lost your addys on msn (Remember: my old account was hacked). About the name changing: it's good if you do it once or if you change your color. The problem with Ramirez is that he always had "Freddie" as his nick. But somehow the font he uses seems to me that I read "Pebble" or some shit like that. I realized it was him on a thread who he gets mentiones and with the replies that show it's the same nick. It's good to remember those who aren't here. Some of us oldies we're still here and make regular posts like Erin, Janet, Mel, Pieter, Danny, Barb, P_G, Mr. Mercury, Sir GH, iGSM, Hans, Paul, Lester... And some of the some sort "New School" that make the change like Raf, Bu, Tijn, Jan, Caspar, Jessie aka KQ340, Alex, Sasha(sometimes), Andy, Jake (although he screwed the page at one time) are still here. It's us all that keep that spirit of the old times alive. We should stick together to make understandable what we're talking about to the new people like Ramirez or Joxer. Of course there would be people that will come and will go, like in every place on this earth. It's like School (Well... a long period of high school for some of you since this place has been up since 1997), and some of them will come back (Sorry Robin I have to take you as an example hun). I would love to see some people come back, like Lori, Albyboy, Barry, Linda, Fenderek, Great King Rat 1138, Dark_Mywto or whatever his name is, Josue, Nathan (NathMay), Rachael, Maria (Grapefruit), Sonia (even with her cookies and her fights xD), MexFMQueen (which I adore 'cuz it was my first friend here) and a bunch more. And well... there's some people that come and go but they should post more like fatty, Sasha!!!, Bob, Robin, William, Ieva... I know sometimes is difficult for you to post here, but there's always the chance, specially when a thread starter is one of the people you hang out with here. I mean: there's always a way to get closer with those you think you have more in "common" with, 'cuz of the age, the musical tastes, the way of talking... If you see almost all the teens that just entered at the end of the last year and the beginning of this year are sticking together 'cuz they find something in common. We all should do that, and I think all the free moderation thing and all that is solved is some sort of way, and won't get the frequent fights like that lot as it is now. Anyways, I think is just my opinion, and it's the piece that I can give to this board, which I have been for 5 years now (Time goes fast, Madonna is wrong), and it was here and it was a way for me to drenade all the bad moments that happened in my life (Some of you know the story already, and I won't tell it again), and it's as addictive as the first day I entered here 'cuz there's always somewehere to post something :). |
YourValentine 02.07.2007 03:37 |
"I do have a name, my friend. It's Ramirez and my user name has never changed. So far I'd like to think I've done a good job with my account, but that's impossible if the older members don't attempt to communicate and welcome you. That's exactly what happened when I was a new member on January 15, 2007. The members who did welcome me I assume were the 'childish' and 'immature' lunatics who the majority of you veterans stay away from. My point is that regardless of how immature or insane they appear, you shouldn't stay away from welcoming a breath of fresh air. Who knows how many people you've all dismissed because they looked 'different' or 'unrecognizable" Nice to meet you, Ramirez. I think there is still a misunderstanding. I do not dismiss people. I just am totally unable to work myself through all the drivel that has been posted on this board over the years, so I have to make choices. So I never read "random" posts or "Queenie above you" - threads and I think that's okay - there are really limits. That does not mean I have an opinion about people who post there. Another "filter" for me is the group of name changers because I just cannot follow such name changes unless I got to know the users although I have quite a good memory for user names. It's true that I may miss interesting people but that cannot be helped, I do not spend my life on this board. Vishnu said that he/she only changed the user name three times but I don't have a clue who he/she was before. I have been reading this board for roughly 8 years now and I saw people come and go. It would be stupid not to welcome new users, the board would not exist without new users. Of course the spammers and starters of ridiculous "Freddie is hot" threads won't post in this thread, therefore it's the wrong people arguing. |

Here's an idea. How about you guys post more often and show the teenies how it's done. It's odd you people only show up in these threads rather than standing up for the cause in the so called "trash" threads that we're drowning in at the moment. The problem isn't just changing your nick every 10 days, but the vast majority just uses the board for their random chats, post in the wrong forums, make ghost accounts to piss people off(clones) and of course spamming. I'm still pro-moderation and especially at this moment. We have a few responsible members on this board who really are fit for the job and can bring order in this mess. So it's up to you all...you want to change the cycle or do you want to stay and bitch all the time without posting a solution? Discuss. ;) |

It's nice to see that so many of my fellow Queenzoners can welcome the younger generation into our little corner of the web with open arms. I on the other hand, despise anyone who is younger than myself. I simply find them to be a constant reminder of the fact that I am bald, overweight, going deaf and make a funny noise getting out of chairs. Whereas the young folk who frequent this message board cannot be held personally responsible for this, it will not stop me from holding it against them. There are a small band of Queenzoners who are slightly younger than my good self that I am prepared to tolerate. Deaconjohn for example may have his whole life ahead of him but he's a decent enough chap and he once bought me a pint a few years ago. Pieter and Erin are okay but that's only because Pieter is Scottish and Erin has great taste in men. Oh and then there's that little scamp Dark Myuutwo who is just so adorable that I want to keep him in a wee cage and poke with a stick every now and again. But as for the rest of those acne scarred little shits, I'd happily murder the lot of them and drink their blood for it's life giving properties. I suggest we create a forum exclusively for us old buggers and we forbid the young folk to ever set foot in it. What we need is another bloody war. I'd pull the lever myself. Aren't policemen starting to look younger. In my day you could go see Queen at the Marquee, drink ten pints, go for a curry and still have enough change out of a groat for your taxi home. Nurse! I've pissed myself again. fatty. P.S Joxer is okay too. He reminds me of a young Flashman. even if he is an old bastard.I don't have acne fatty -.-' |

No problem using me as an example but I didn't really leave, just got fed up.I understand that compeletely, 'cuz everybody comes and goes just for that. I mean: there's always a way to get closer with those you think you have more in "common" with, 'cuz of the age, the musical tastes, the way of talking... If you see almost all the teens that just entered at the end of the last year and the beginning of this year are sticking together 'cuz they find something in common. We all should do that, and I think all the free moderation thing and all that is solved is some sort of way, and won't get the frequent fights like that lot as it is now." I will try to post more, but it's not the teens....I love the fact that they love Queen. It's idiots, quite frankly. Waste of time and space. Oh well, as we all know, I can filter/ignore, but it's more the rule than the exception. I will try to be more positive! That's the spirit Robin :D. BTW... glad to know you're okay hun ^^ |

Ok fatty. I don't think you can stereotype all "young people" as acne-faced little shitheads who do nothing to make queenzone worthwhile, or any of those other things you said about us. I do infact agree that there are some annoying people out there that litter the forums with useless "random" topics. However you can't say that ALL of us are like that. I would be deeply saddened if it was split up between adults and teenagers or whatever. I certainly find more use out of the topics the adults bring up and I would hate to only have the option of participating in the pointless forums certain "younger people" put up. I know those "random threads" that some kids put up make a lot of people mad but I don't think it's fair to split up the teenagers and adults. I'm sure there is another option for solving the problem. |

There are some young 'uns that fatty wants to be rid of, just because of age, that are positive additions to this board. Others, I'd agree with him and the Red Queen "Off with their heads!" There are some who are almost my age who act sub-tweenish in their maturity with their responses. They could learn from them young 'uns. Anyone who wants to bop me in the nose personally for any previous comments made by myself or wife or faithful dog Freddie.......I'll be half of the Gentry&Goodman DJ team at this year's WeWillRockUS convention in metro Detroit. However, as many other people seem to be saying, I now only really check back once or twice a week - the cliquey threads and pre-pubescant hissy fits just get my heckles up too much, and I know that if I reply to posts the way I want to at the time, it would probably just get worse, so instead I don't post at all, which is a shame, because I used to have a good time on here. |

George: That's not your Grandfather. Paul: It is y'know. John: But your Grandfather lives in your house. I've seen him. Paul: Oh, that's me other Grandfather, but this one's me Grandfather and all. John: How d'you reckon that one out? Paul: Well ... everyone's entitled to two, aren't they, and this is me other one. ETC. I love that movie. It's me first number one. |

-fatty- wrote: On the outskirts of Queenzone, set among five and a half acres of well kept gardens, stands the Queenzone retirement home. Actually, I have rather enjoyed the vast majority of the new Doctor Who, and am sure I will continue to do so. I miss you fatty. This was a fun fandom to be in, back in the day! |
