what you have "performed" is so very derivative. you need to try for an original arrangement. this sounds very 1970s barclay james harvest/camel/genesis/yes/manfred mann's earthband there's even some Freddie-esque, type Rachmaninov styling in there too and you are in denial - if you think you can get into music without accepting critism then you will need thick skin...your approach: "you're all talking bollox if you don't like this" will make you no firends, and consequently no listeners nice try but as i said...derivative |

The Triton LE IS THE CHEAP VERSION OF THE TRITON!!! What does that have to do with anything? First off, if you want good quality sounds, get a real board. The organs and EPs on Tritons have always sucked, especially the on-board ones. Thin sounding horns and strings. My advice: Sell that Korg, you might get $400 if you're lucky. Get a Nord Electro 2 or a Roland RD700 or something that's decent enough to record. Your sounds are very amatuer, unless that's the sound you're going for. |

"Please go check your eyes." 70/70 vision. Next!! "2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE get it? OR how many more times do i have to say it?" We get it, we just don't care. :P "btw that was not a rip off of final countdown, listen carefully, the melody is not the same, just the same style and sound" I was being unfair, I apologise. Look, it's a sad truth that perhaps we QZ'ers are too harsh on you? You've got to understand WHY though.. here, look. A mediocre musician at work link Now the guy in that video never ever rehearses, doesn't take very good care of his 'pipes' and consistently puts in dodgy performances, saving the best playing for jams and such..... don't know why. He just does. The reason the world isn't at war with this musician is because he doesn't go around insisting he's right all the time. He understands that music is a collaboration, not a competition (UNLESS you like MTV or Idol) and that even those of us who aren't all that great have a place in it... and here's a hint : THAT PLACE in the grand scheme of things is not to stand on a fucking pedestal and tell everyone that they're wrong. No fucker is going to give you the time of day if you crap all over music that we happen to like. For shits sake you panned Mozart without having a real handle on his music!!! What the FUCK!?! I'm telling you.... people don't shit on your music because it's bad. There's far worse out there, I've heard it - I've BEEN in worse bands. The point is, people shit on you because you're acting like insufferable eggheads. When you're on stage, you have a certain license to act like King Dick - when the light is on you, you've every right to act like you own the world. The thing is a lot of us know how to turn that off when we're in the real world, most of us can be a bit realistic about our own abilities...... your music would probably have been better received on this forum if you'd acted personably and not insisted that out of 6004921 bands formed since 1822, you just happen to be 2nd best out of all of them. From one musician to another, and I really bear you no malice or ill-will... can you Treasure Moment types please change your sales pitch? It's giving everyone a good laugh, but if nothing else... think of the customers you've scared off. No one will buy a CD by someone who thinks they're a lot better than they are (with the odd exception like Robbie Williams). Love and good vibes, - Scotty. |

Euuhhhhh....SAY WHAT ??!?!?! Read a good bio on Mozart and you might want to take back that comment. While I love Queen -- I think a statement that compares Mozart to Freddie is a little ridiculous. And I somehow doubt that you can compare a classically-trained / (some may say) animal-trained Child-prodigy to a modern day pop-singer. We're talking about 2 different times socially/politically and DEFINITELY musically. More like comparing apples and oranges. You need to be better informed before making such statements, my friend. In my view - Freddie was a GOOD piano player - but I wouldn't call him anywhere near a Mozart. |

FORGET THE SONG FOR ONE MOMENT. Its not often i read a thread on queenzone where so many people agree with each other. It's refreshing. Maybe its a daft idea but we should have a queenzone battle of the bands. I think most people/bands would get alot from the views of people who are influenced by the same bands as them. Freddie wrote bohemian rhapsody which is the most succesful song of all time. He also wrote we are the champions. Both of these songs have been voted as the worlds best song in different polls. Freddie had the best voice EVER and no one can sing like him, thats a fact too. Just look at people trying to cover queen songs, they sound like crap in comparision. Freddie was the best frontman of all time too, for example the live aid performance was voted as the best live gig of all time. as i said, mozart may have had more skills on piano but he didnt write as good music as freddie. I think freddie will be regarded as the best musician and singer of all time! Many people already consider him as a god which he was. |

A Rolaids Watch might cost $2.00 - good price. If 2 million people in 2007 buy Rolaids watches - does it mean it's a 'better' watch...??? Nope! Does it mean it's more popular...YES! Will it rank higher in 'popularity'...probably. Will it last as long as a Rolex...nope. Same goes for alot of music - and to a certain degree Queen's music. Queen's music is generally popular in a certain demographic - NOT EVERYONE knows who Freddie Mercury is. But if you walk down the street and ask 10 people at random - OF ALL AGES...I'm betting that 9 out of 10 of them would know who Mozart is. To use another analogy...I'm betting you that in the United States -- American Idol is WAY more popular than Queen...does it mean that the winners are better musician -- often times the answer is no.It's all a matter of popularity...which most often than not - translates into success. People will always have a wider respect for the Mozarts, Beethovens, Chopins, Bach's -- how could you not ?!?! But to make a statement that 'Freddie wrote better classical music' than Mozart....?!?! |

People are still talking and listening to Queen 15 years after freddies death and many consider him as the greatest singer of all time which he was. Image what they will say about him in 200 years if the race is still around then." 15 years is nothing my friend... Consider this... In the time of these classical composers there were NO Radios, NO Televisions, NO Youtube, NO Internet -- people were mainly relying on live performances, and word of mouth etc. etc. etc. Artists in the 20th and 21st centuries have had considerably more success without doing HALF as much effort. Often times their success is handed to them with very little effort. Do you think the same people would have been AS successful in the time of these composers - The Mozarts, The Bachs, The Beethovens, Chopins etc. etc. - PLEASE. It's a no-contest. Reverse the roles...if Mozart or Beethoven lived in 2007 - with the advances in media-tools - not to mention medicine (Beethoven eventually lost his hearing - remember and STILL wrote some amazing stuff) - they would have kicked the shit (both literally and musically) out of any artist alive today. The point is that they worked and performed their ASSES off travelling around Europe - showing their skill and writing music for others to perform...such music is STILL performed to this day. They didn't record a thing - but had their music written down and in most cases "literally" wrote their own music...not to be confused with people who 'record' but don't "write" a note...not saying that's bad at all - just making that clarification. There were no Top 40 charts - no iTunes - no American Idol, American Top 40 - Top of the Pops etc. etc. or nothing that came close to these 'clouded' views of what 'good' music is these days. So these composers and performers were popular -- and had the "hype" not because they had great media tools or a stunning website or a great manager, producer or because they were good-looking. They worked to reach their popularity AND they sometimes failed miserably. The "hype" was there because the composers earned it ON THEIR OWN. |

This thread has become way more funny in the past few hours.... A guy with a beard talking like a 13 year old, while his brother argues like a 9 year old. Please, keep it going...I especially liked the line about composers having had time to build their reputations over hundreds of years (despite being dead throughout). And Queen being more influential than the Beatles....despite being influenced by the Beatles themselves... |

I thought the composition itself was good. It sounded like it was inspired by Freddie's "A Day At The Races" piano playing. Like I said before, Once you guys get past your egos; and begin to really refine what you do...you'll show something. The only thing I would strongly urge is use a more authentic piano sound on the keyboard. That keyboard tone is one of the reasons that people like Richard Marx are out of a job. Its sooo annoying. And on a final note, a question and comment: Why do you call yourself an Atheist, but yet you say that Freddie has the voice of God? That was your words...That being said, If that's what you believe...then you aren't atheist at all. You're agnostic. |

I've listened to the demo and your songs on myspace and will tell you that you do have talent, your keyboard sound aren't all there but they will. But take this advice however you want to take it. I've been in this business for over ten years and have had success in and around Texas and have even toured with various regional artists. I'm no rock star but I'm happy with what I've accomplished. People don't like dealing with huge egos. I've seen it time and time again where a great musician with a huge ego will be over looked for someone with less talent. Just my two cents, but all in all you guys do have potential. I wish you the best. J |

You are doing nothing more than a very simple toccata (look it up on wikipedia if you don't know what I mean) by the sounds of it, so you should consider doing something more interesting with your chords. Also, you should start realizing that "more notes" does not equal "better song". In your case, the downpour of notes ruins an acceptable concept, in fact. |
