Hello all,
I have over the last few days been trying to get as much advice as possible on what programs to use to re-do Queen songs, and the response has been great. Now, I have an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar and a key board (which my mum bought in the mid eighties). I have basic skills on the guitar but am yet to have lessons, so as yet playing complicated songs is a stretch. I want to do a Queen song, but all the tablatures I have looked at on Ultimate Guitar seem far to complicated for me. For those who have done Queen songs already, which song is best to start of with, any pointers about doing the songs and how to play them is greatly appreciated. I am willing to give any song a chance, so all suggestions are welcome.
My thanks in advance,
M.H

Please tell us what level are you at on the guitar. From what you are saying,my guess is you are a beginner.
Be aware that, being as Brain is something of a virtuoso guitarist, even the most simplest of Queen songs will have some complicated stuff in it.
That said, i think "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" could be best suited if you are a beginner.
Yes, I am definetly a beginer. No lessons as yet and I have had the guitar for six month and have been sqeezing any practice I can during that I time. I can play Smoke On The Water (the obvious one), Cant Get No Satisfaction, Sunshine of Your Love and Smells Like Teen Spirit (including solo). I am learning chords at the moment, and am getting the basic ones down pretty easy. As you stated, Brian is a virtuoso guitarist, something I found out when I saw The Hero tab, how the hell he gets his fingers from each position so quickly absoloutley amazes me, it really does. But, I like the idea of Crazy Little Thing Called Love, the intro should be easy enough, what about the Solo?

I know it's not exactly a Queen song, but Driven By You is fairly straightforward, if you want to learn the basic riff and rhythm parts of it. I can even do the first part of the solo, so it must be easy! That said, I haven't picked up a guitar for years, so how I would do now, is anyone's guess. If you must have a Queen song, try One Vision.
or anything by The Cross.
That's sure a tall order to "emulate" as a beginner. I would think you would want to try something easier first and later progress into bands like Queen.
When I first picked up the bass about 10 years ago, I started playing Steely Dan and realized that I was fooling myself.
