I wouldn't.
Unless it was like a vacation, where I could come back.
Many things we take for granted today were unavailable not ten years ago. The farther you go back, even worse you will find the quality of life to be. Quality of life is comparative - good quality of life in the past is terrible quality of life today.

Well I'd really like to be in the 70s and I think London is a really nice place so...yeah!! lol
Well, that's an interesting question, like MusicMan said. People tend to think of the glamorized Hollywood version of times and places, without actually thinking about what life was really like for the people who lived there.
That being said, I'd go to Europe (probably France, as it is the only place in Europe I've been to so far), and open a salon during The Enlightenment so I could host my friends, read the latest works of philosophers and intellectuals, and debate about them with good friends around.
Of course, I'd actually be a lot more prepared for the reality of what it would be like, since that time period is one of the ones I have studied pretty extensively, so the first rule for anyone coming to my salon would be bathing on a daily basis (that would take away the biggest problem I think :-)

lol-well let's just say I'd like to be in teh 70s and get a feel for all the music and lifestyle!! For instance, go to the concert at Hyde Park and all that. Only pay $8-$13 for a concert ticket-hell yeah!!!
And be stabbed by a Hell's Angel? 'Groovy', man. Real 'far out', dudddddddde.
I would like to go back to April 3, 1943. Just...to see what was going on really. Speak a bit of the lingo then spit in Hitler's eye! Oh, the hijinks I would get up to.
