I watched Live At The Bowl today, and I was wandering, did Queen ever release any editions of We Will Rock You Fast at all, on any live recordings or that? I really like that version and want to get my hands on it if I can.
All help appreciated...
M.H
There are no studio recordings of that song to my knowledge, however you can find it on the following releases:
Queen: Live Killers (CD)
Queen: We Will Rock You (DVD) -not official release
Queen: Greatest Video Hits 1 (DVD)
Oh yeah...and don't forget you can buy Live at the Bowl on CD.
some time ago(2-4years) there was a stucdio version of it released on as a promo in som SUN magazine or something. think it was recorded by bbc. and when another u can download have the slow first then a segment of someone reading a book n then the fast. think its cool.

There was a King Biscuit Flower Hour release with WWRY Fast on it (I believe the fabulous BBC version with fake audience noise) - the above CD might be that release, but I can't tell for sure.
And The Sun did a WWRY promo CD to promote the musical as mentioned. It did feature a heavily edited BBC WWRY version, but that version is pretty poor when compared to the full BBC version.
There are (at least) two versions of the studio-recorded WWRY (fast) out there. One is the song as it was recorded at the BBC--the first verse and guitar solo of the normal version followed by a gong, a strange segment of a reading from a Buddhist text, and then the fast version played in full.
The second version that's circulating around out there is identical to the first, except that it has crowd noise artificially placed onto the track. Why? A radio station wanted to broadcast a live recording of a Queen concert, but they couldn't get their hands on one, so they took a few of the BBC tracks Queen had recorded, dumped crowd noise behind them, and voila!
By the way, in case you want to hear the BBC recording for yourself: link
I have the King Biscuit Flower Hour from 8/7/88 that featured QUEEN and Kansas. It's from D.I.R. Broadcasting Corp in New York, (DIR Radio Network) that ran the King Biscuit Hour.
Queen segment is on Track 4,with

M.H. To answer your question. Yes, a live studio version was completed by the band on 28th October 1977 and may someday see the light of day.
It is available on a number of (variable quality) bootlegs.

First of all thanks for the response everyone, much appreciated. I have looked in all of Western Australias major CD stores, and as yet I can't find the Live At The Bowl CD anywhere, but I'm pretty sure I've seen live killers. Unfortunatley I couldn't get that link working and couldn't hear the song but thank you all the same. And mikypraise if you could upload those songs that would be great, I'm afraid my collection of Queen is not as extensive as others yet so I don't know if I have anything that I could upload for you, but if you haven't got anything from the eigthties period I can upload for you I shall (doubtless you've got all the albulms already though!)
Thanks to all of you again,
M.H

Thx Thunderbolt! I hadnt heard that without an (fake) audience yet! And a thx to Mickeyparise for the 1 with the audience.. i never heard the bit before teh 'concert'!
I absolutely love freddies voice here. So *its late*
Having said that.. I do love Brians guitar, Johns bass and Rogers drums too!!
Just a little fyi on 'The Sun' promo CD of the week:
1. We Will Rock You (from 'The Platinum Collection')
2. WWRY (fast version recorded for John Peel BBC Radio 1)
3. WWRY (from the original London cast recording)
4. WWRY (video taken from the Queen DVD -Greatest Video Hits 1)
5. Queen Weblink and The Official Chart Company Weblink
copyrighted 2002 Queen Productions and EMI
It was great to finally have the fast version in good listening form. Curious though, if sharing any of these on QZ is one of those borderline taboos (if the previously listed link is the same version).
Thanks very much mikypraise for uploading the link, but either I'm a computing invalid (most likley) or my computer is useless (least likley). The linked work I just cant wok out how to download the song, it kept saying that only users can dowload to stop abuse of the site or something. The link works, just not sure how to use it, I'll try and work it out and let you know if it works.
Thanks very much again,
M.H
Aha! I've got it! Worked the damn thing out, I am possibly the least observant person alive today. I didn't type in the code. Got it now though and it's downloaded fine. Thanks mikypraise, greatly appreciated.
Take care all...
