1. judas priest - painkiller for having killer guitar riffs and a singer with a shrieking voice. great atmosphere too 2. beatles - abbey road great guitar play from george, and some brilliant moments on the second half of the album (along with the obvious classics on the first half) 3. Queen - innuendo for freddies incredible voice and for the best song ever created by any artist: TSMGO 4. rage against the machine - evil empire great awesome music and very cheesy lyrics 5. guns n roses - UYI II for the emotion and the bluesy inspired guitar work. some instant classics on here, the best being estranged but there are so many good songs on this one |

1. Queen: Innuendo This album is truly a masterpiece...it was the perfect way to conclude the life of Freddie Mercury and Queen. It is also one of the most if not the most emotional Queen album you'll ever listen to. 2. The Darkness: Permission to Land I don't care what anybody says, this album sounds fresh everytime I listen to it. It's a shame what happened to The Darkness though...I thought Justin Hawkins was better than that. 3. Queen: A Day at the Races From start to finish it is the ultimate Queen album. In my opinion, it's an improvement from the previous album, A Night at the Opera. It demonstrates the romantic side of Queen (You and I, Somebody to Love, You Take My Breath Away, and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy.) 4. The Wallflowers: Bringing Down The Horse This is a childhood favorite of mine. Before Queen I was only into The Wallflowers. What more is there to say? The Wallflowers are amazing musicians! 5. Metallica: The Black Album This album is so kickass that everytime I listen to it my favorite song changes. Sadly, the only thing that sucks about the album is that it was the beginning of the end for Metallica. I'm sorry, but Metallica just aren't the same anymore...they became boring if you ask me. |

1- A Night At The Opera. My all time favourite. The first Queen album I bought. 2- Out of the Blue (ELO). Fell in love with it when I first heard it and I still love it. 3- Merlin: Bard Of The Unseen (Kayak). Just WOW. 4- Perspective (Jason Becker). Amazing, it's an amazing record full of incredible music. 5- Kosmos (Valensia). Yup, gotta love this album! These are my top 5 right now, tomorrow they may change xD |

I was going to, but then I saw Judas Priest - Painkiller as your #1. Next thing you know, my head exploded. Plus apparently everyone here is painfully white. You didn't say 5 favorite rock albums, right? Well, as far as order, I don't know. Miles Davis - A Kind Of Blue. The ultimate jazz recording with Cannonball Adderly on Sax. The two heavyweights of their time setting the standard for jazz albums for the next 15 years. Stevie Wonder - Songs From The Key Of Life. The "perfect" album. Every song has become a classic and the order in which they were listed is how Stevie envisioned and wrote them. The Boy Wonder. Michael Jackson - Thriller. The best r&b album ever. Production? Flawless. Musicians? The best at the time. Plus throw in Paul and Eddie? They were about as big as it got in rock at the time. The Beatles - White Album. Actually you could throw just about any Beatles album here, this just happens to be my personal choice. Again, flow and creativity in my main reason for choosing White. Queen - Night At The Opera. Obviously the weak one here, and shows that I'm no music expert, but this album seemed way, way ahead of it's time. Plus a #1 single twice in 20 years? |

The Boy Wonder.Brilliant album indeed. I find that all of Stevie Wonder's albums from 'Music of My Mind' to 'Hotter Than July' were close to being flawless. His latest album 'A Time 2 Love' was very reminiscent of his classic work from the 70s, but with a small touch of contemporary R&B. |

They were all really cool dudes. And I actually saw the Painkiller tour. They were a good metal band in their day. Although, I didn't think Stained Class was that strong of an effort. I certainly wouldn't use that album as my exit. |

My top five are never cemented. They change all the time, well, all except Innuendo. So, here are my current top five. 1. Innuendo What is there to say about this album that hasn't been said on these boards already? It's great. End of. 2. Kimi Ga Suki * Raifu - Matthew Sweet This album was recorded as for his Japanese fans and as a result was kind of under the radar. And that's a shame, as It's stellar from start to finish. If you can find a copy, I recommend that you pick it up. It's well worth it! 3. She's The One - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers I don't know if the movie's any good, but the soundtrack sure is! This is, in my opinion, the best Petty album of the '90s. And there's a GREAT cameo from Lindsey Buckingham on the first track. 4. Face The Music - Electric Light Orchestra This album is worthy of the top five if only for Fire On High. What a great album opener! 5. Under The Covers Vol. 1 - Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs Of all the albums that I bought from last year, this one has seen the most play. Sure it's just an album of covers, but they're damn good covers! Two particular favorites are Dylan's It's All Over Now Baby Blue and Love's Alone Again Or. I just love the way their two voices blend. Wonderful. |

5. ZZ Top - Eliminator Their most popular album, it helped bring their blend of blues and rock 'n' roll to the mainstream. It also influenced the early (and greatest) days of MTV. Of course, everyone knows "Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs", and all those songs, but I especially like "TV Dinners" and "Got Me Under Pressure". 4. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV An amazing album that transcends the norm in terms of ability and creativity...in short: it's kickass. I mean, "Stairway To Heaven", "Black Dog", "Misty Mountain Hop"...do I need to go on? 3. Queen - Hot Space Underrated. It's as simple as that. The combination of dance/disco/funk/rock/pop worked to a degree, and although its sound is dated, it shows that they can make an album that may not stack up to the rest, but has good tracks nonetheless. "Put Out The Fire" and "Action This Day" work well for me. 2. David Bowie - Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) Continuing with the ever-changing focus of David Bowie, this album is one of his most eccentric yet proficient albums ever. A great way to begin the 1980's for the 'Thin White Duke'. I recommend "Fashion" and "Teenage Wildlife". 1. Rush - Moving Pictures The album that blasted this Canadian trio to the top. It secured Rush's position as a top draw, and fitted the time and sound of the 80's very well. Each track (there are seven) has a distinct sound and is filled with everything that a good rock fan needs. My personal fave is the closer, Vital Signs. |
