If there were to be a compilation called "Queen Greatest Hits 4", what songs would you put on it? The songs don't have to be chart-toppers or anything like that, just popular among Queen fans.
I'd put '39 and The March of the Black Queen.
Ignored released singles... stuff like Liar, Scandal, It's Late, Jealousy, Staying Power, Long Away, Calling All Girls, Mustapha, Pain Is So Close To Pleasure, One Year Of Love, Teo Torriatte, Body Language, '39, etc.

A that point, they're not really going to be so much of "Greatest Hits" any more. : /
Things to show off the range...Keep Passing The Open Window, Loser In The End, March Of The Black Queen, Is This The World We Created, Bring Back That Leroy Brown, Stone Cold Crazy, The Prophits Song, I'm In Love With My Car...
Well, you get the idea.If I listed everything that I'd have on it then it would probably have to be a tripple CD set.
well, there are "hits" to be features in a GH4
1.Love of My life(live)
2.Tie Your Mother Down
3.Spread Your Wings
4.Scandal
5.New York..at Last(remixed)
6.It's a Beautiful Day(remixed)
7.A Winter's Tale
8.Made In Heaven
9.I Was Born To Love You
10.Back Chat
11.The Hero(re-take)
12.There Must Be More in Life Than This(Queen version)
13.New Dark Ages(Queen Version)
14.'39
15.Let Us Cling Together(2005 re-take)
16.Sail Away Sweet Sister
17.Keep Youself Alive(2007 re-take)
Well, i can figure some major hits(bigger than most prime hist from some contemporany bands/artists) and some minor hits, but it certainly worth it.
You must be fucking joking, i hope to christ Jim Beach doesn't read this otherwise it will probably happen for christmas.GH3 included SOLO songs for christs sakes.
I have said it before why hasn't there been separate Box Set releases for Brian and Roger's solo material. They might not have the same broad appeal as the Freddie Box, but in my opinion there would be a lot more content.More albums for a start and in both Brians and Roger's cases the amount of collobrations they have done over the years is massive.
Of course this would probably lead to a huge legal mindfield with all the copyright etc. Well heres hoping!!
Very good post...I will add my choices
1.) 39
2.) Liar
3.) White Queen (As It Began)
4.) In The Lap of The Gods (Revisted)
5.) I'm In Love With My Car
6.) Spread Your Wings
7.) It's Late
8.) Who Needs You
9.) Flick Of The Wrist
10.) The Hero
11.) Scandal
12.) Love Of My Life (Live)
All we have to look forward to are endless compilations until our dying day.
1. Queen's Love Songs
2. Queen's Party Songs
3. Queen's Drinking Songs
4. The Very Best of Queen
5. Greatest Hits 4
etc, etc, etc
Mind you, a compilation of B-Sides would be most welcome, although I'm not sure we'll see something like that in the foreseeable future (and what happened to the singles collection anyway?)
Let's be realistic. The Q+PR machine will hopefully be a long-lasting collaboration producing many fine fruits, but I can't fathom seeing anything new from the original Queen for a very long time, if at all.
NATHAN, about the b-sides collection, that was scheduled to be released a couple of years ago but like all "new and exciting" releases that were to be put out, they were cancelled.
And the "Singles Collection" which we all got very excited about and went on at length as to what tracks they were putting on it well a big fucking nothing.
How is it that Greg Brooks cannot find out from the band what the fuck they are doing about archive releases.
All i know is that since 1993 we were told that all the unreleased songs and demoes etc were to be released via box sets.14 years and counting........
Why? Do you hate me? ;_; Please don't hate me! I think you're fabulous! ;_;
Of course I don't hate you. I just don't want to write in it anymore.
Darren, I never knew that they were originally planning a B-Side album. Its fate comes as no real surprise.
1. Staying Power
2. Dancer
3. Back Chat
4. Body Language
5. Action This Day
6. Put Out The Fire
7. Life Is Real
8. Calling All Girls
9. Las Palabras De Amor
10. Cool Cat
11. Under Pressure
Err........I wasnt aware of a 2007 re take of this! or do you mean the "Long Lost Re Take" released in 1991 on the US remaster of "Queen"?
At any rate, I'd probably buy such a cd.....kind of an interesting mix of semi-hits, and rarities...
Not sure about hit singles worldwide but on GH 1, 2 & 3 only about 8 songs that were hits in the UK are missing. We ARE talking about HIT singles here and not fave album tracks? If so we could go on making "GH" albums for ever and a day.
