Glad to see that DB began to appreciate what a great song he was part of.
I think this is a fantastic version of the track, it just goes to show what a range Freddie had, that it takes a woman to get anywhere close.
Enjoy. link
She is called Gail Ann Dorsey and she said in a book on David Bowie that performing Under Pressure with Bowie was the highlight of her career as her music idol is Freddie. I was at the Birmingham show in 2003 on the same tour where i saw that performed and it was very good. I obviously love Freddie the best but my friend hates Freddie and loves David Bowie so I always tease him by saying that when Bowie does it he needs help but when Queen did it Freddie did both parts on his own! (ok a bit of help from Roger too!)
They even performed this on Top of the Pops 2 in the same year in a special show. Don't know if that is out there for download as the Beeb keep a tight reign over their live stuff.
A little off topic, but apparently Gail Ann Dorsey reallllyyyyyy wanted to be the bass player on the Queen & PR tour, but Paul wouldn't agree, and apparently there's bad blood between the two. Anyone know about this?
On topic, I know Bowie never gave UP much due early on, and always thought it could be better than it ended up, but it's a fantastic song that had both parties contributing to make a song the other may not have had in them. Glad to see he's embraced it.

I must change my signature. It's too long.....
She has a stonger voice than David Bowie does. I think you are new to the site, so welcome M.T.T.B.Q. and enjoy.

I seem to recall that not long after Bowie toured as part of Tin Machine he did a "greatest hits" type tour and performed his hits for the final time, effectively retiring them. In the mid-90's he toured the US with Nine Inch Nails and only played songs he had never before performed live on tour. He stuck "Under Pressure" in the set in the second or third week and was amazed at the incredible response it got from the audience. I think it ended up in the encore for most of the rest of the tour.
