Hi ! Is this from the same source as the previously uploaded "The Real Dazzler"? |
PBB 04.06.2007 08:31 |
The tracker url is dimeadozen, so it's not possible for everyone to download. Upload to QZ tracker, please. |

GtKngRat wrote: Hi ! Is this from the same source as the previously uploaded "The Real Dazzler"?Probably not quite, because the previously had soundcheck as mp3, but off course the rest could be. |

Ginger01 12.06.2007 18:24 |
I checked a couple of tracks that were complete using EAC and the answer seems to be no. Any other opinions? |
fernandosales 12.06.2007 20:10 |

Any other opinions?Hi Ginger You shared this one last year with the soundchech in mp3 but the rest as flac. I restarted it if you or others will help me seed. My internet connection is very unreliable at the moment but I'll stay on it for as long as it takes. .-) |

Both the show and soundcheck are from mp3... the same mp3s that were available here all those years ago. To whoever who did this: I don't know why you people think you can pass off a show as lossless when it isn't. Someone will catch you! And now over 350 people have this lossy show, and over 900 copies of these three lossy Birmingham shows are out there. Congratulations. But it's pretty much everyone's fault, really. Out of 900 downloads, only a very few people have bothered to mention anything about the fact that the files are lossy. The fact that almost every downloader uncritically downloaded this without caring to check that it's lossless just speaks wonders about this community... not just the people who created and shared these files. I thought the majority of people here were starting to care, but obviously I was wrong. It seems that people were only interested in FLAC files because it seemed that a few collectors such as myself were "creating rules", and that they had to "abide" by said "rules" if they wanted the shares to continue. But that's not what it was at all. Technology has created the rules - not any collector. But these Birmingham shares have exposed the mentality of Queen collectors. The majority, which is at least hundreds of people, know little or nothing about quality preservation, and are showing no interest in learning. They just take whatever they can get and give nothing back. But for those who do care, only a very small minority actually stand up and speak out. It's truly unfortunate. Go ahead and flame me... but every flame will be more reason for me to believe less and less in the potential of this community. |

SirGH, you're absolutely right, of course. But please calm down. I was one of those who started downloading all three shows, too, but I stopped my download when I read that the files are lossy. You have to have at least one complete file, a little knowledge and the appropriate software to check the files. I had neither, so I just stopped it without adding something to the words that were already said. I guess, a lot of people did the same, annoyed about the lost time and useless effort, but not finding it necessary to comment on this. And there's still the possibility that the uploader acted in good faith. |
The Real Wizard 14.06.2007 00:19 |
I'm very calm... just disappointed, that's all.
You have to have at least one complete file, a little knowledge and the appropriate software to check the files.Right, I understand that not everyone does that. But if there was proper moderation here, then the files would be checked before people can download them, and people could skip that step while understanding why they're skipping it. Someone please, tell me why that would be so wrong. |

I fully understand your feelings. Queenzone really needs a change. Not only the forum software, not only the "information database", but also this section needs to have some strict rules,a share ratio meter, a moderator ... And what about completing the search function, do some sorting (maybe devide the Announce section into many sub-sections representing years ? ) But we can't change this :( |

...thanks for the information about the lossy-ness of this. I'll make clear notion of it in my list. I'm still seeding this to 2 persons now. One is at 88% and the second one is at 1,8 (and d/l'ing real slow) I'm having a hard time terminating my upload for the 88%...I think I'll wait till 88% is at 100% Unfortunatly for such a small comunity (as this is, compared to a dime or u2torrents) it's not doable to have moderators 24h a day to preserve the lossless-ness of all the shows. However, small comunities are in general the more cosy places...and that's a good thing. There are also options for torrentsites where only 'qualified' members are able to start a torrent. I've seen it but I'm not exactly sure how it's called and how it exactly works... |

...hehe...it's the Real Dazzler I'm seeding now...:) ...not this one |

The Loser In The End wrote: However, small comunities are in general the more cosy places...and that's a good thing. You're right... that's definitely a good thing! But think of it this way: Since there are less people, then think how much easier it would be to establish changes here, compared to a place like Dime where there are 100,000 members. |
