Though some of the recordings we have on the CD's today are remastered, does anything think someone should work on a whole new remastered Queen album? For people that haven't heard of Love, it's alot of the Beatles's songs spliced together as some sort of medley. There are many parts from different songs and different takes used in the songs. The songs have been remastered and re-arranged, some even shortened. P.S. Yes I'm being serious. |

In my opinion, I thought the Beatles Love album was terrible. It's really hard for me to sit through the whole thing. The edits and splices are really distracting. |

For me.... some bits of Love worked, and some were just plain stupid. Particularly Octopus' Garden, that did not work at all (using the orchestration from that lullaby song they did.....). I wouldn't really like a similar thing from Queen. I do get curious sometimes, thinking that perhaps "You Don't Fool Me" would sound better with a more understated instrumentation (like Another One Bites the Dust) or if "One Year of Love" was done rockier, like the Queen version of "I Was Born To Love You". But nah.... can't say a 'Love' style album by Queen would be all that good an idea. |

It's an interesting thought, regardless of the cold reception your question has received. I thought the "Love" album tracks idea was a good one. And remember, it wasn't made as an album to be sold, although that was always a possibility. It was made for the cirque de soleil. Very interesting idea you have there. But I can't be sure how it would work with Queen's music. Someone in the fanmix community should give it a try with the surround mixes that are available and anything else they want to throw in. Critics to the idea be damned. It's worth a go for those with the skills and ideas. I'm not sure I would have the patience for such a project. And to be honest, I'm most happy when recording, rather than mixing ideas like this. Adam. |

A mate of mine mixed me a Queen album with songs overlapping each other or segments playing together & it was excellent. But it wasn't the real thing. And the Beatles thing sounded like a cash in to me altho I admit I haven't heard it. |

I really disliked the Beatle's Love album. It really seemed like a Christmas cash grab. I didn't like the DJ Danger Mouse's Grey Album either, but at least the spirit was to create and a lot of people digged it. I'm all for unauthorized mixes. |

Basically, his vocal line does not gel very well with the orchestration; soundwise, it's well done, but musically it jars. Tis all I mean. |

It's very well put together and puts a new spin on old classics. Although it doesnt please everyone, tahts alright, they took a huge risk. But it is an awesome and fresh thing for the ears. But isn't that that truth for any album really? And the Beatles were always looking for new sounds to create for albums (if anyone gets the chance to get a hold of GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINES SGT PEPPERS 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITION tells all about the technical aspects and how their engineer Geoff Emerick achieved such sounds) that they too would give it a go. I do believe however that if some other person randomly did it, other than the Martin family, it could have been a disaster, because the Martin's were the closest to the Beatles and had an ear for what would work and what they would appreciate. So I would have to say the same should a QUEEN "Love-esque" album ever surface. I would hope the right people would be involved, some risk taken, but done right like the LOVE album itself, I think I would give it a go. However, it SHOULD NOT be simply a mish mosh of just their greatest hits sloppyily thrown together, THAT would be most definatly a Christmas cash in. *cough*Stonecoldcrazyhits*cough* Edit: Of course you couldnt do the album without the greatest hits, but having some of the more obscure things like B-sides and other album songs should be included, not only the greatest hits. Its been done. And Fan mixes sometimes come out pretty sweet, but thats because they have an ear for the music. |

Well I don't know how many of you had actually a chance to hear the whole "Love" thing in the 5.1 glory, but anyway I think it REALLY worked in some places, specially when they mashed up all over the track. For example, you have to listen what is done with the "Mr. Kite" and the "Drive My Car" suites. For me it really worked. The boring parts on this album is when they decided to keep the original tracks =P As for trying something similar with the Queen reportoire, I had to listen to judge it first. |

Sorry guys, what i do not want to see is yet another compilation of existing tracks, especially like the Love album, taking tracks and reworking them.Some of the songs were ok while others simply did not work. What we all want to see is the long awaited box sets with the unreleased stuff and better sounding songs that are currently doing the rounds such as Robbery and Self Made Man. |

I'd rather get my box anthology/unreleased stuff before they try anything like this. But we all know hell will probably freeze over first...
