Lots of official stuff on both, so they can't be uploaded here. Take a look on some BitTorrent search sites--that's how I found them. |

Masahiko 21.02.2007 19:57 |
Hi Thanks for your reply. I could find "Royal Rarities Vol.1" at a certain BitTorrent search site.(I used "isoHunt") To:jaxjag03 I'm looking for "Royal Rarities Vol.2(CD4&CD5)". But I can't find its torrent file, wherever I search. Please let me know where it is up-loaded. To:L-R-TIGER1994 I could get "Royal Rarities Vol.1" in the above-mentioned method. But "Royal Rarities Vol.2(CD4&CD5)" is not found. Cannot I get it from your collections? If I have any MP3 or FLAC you're looking for, I can trade my collections for your collections. Sorry for my English. Thans in advance. |

Did anyone ever end up acquiring this one? Assuming it's this version: link The four BBC 77 tracks would be especially useful for the ongoing discussion we're having. |
BETA215 21.08.2014 02:51 |
One friend send me a link to download the CD 1, which I requested to him, and is in FLAC. I haven't finished the download but I believe in him. link |
BETA215 21.08.2014 04:39 |
They are in MP3 =/ |
Barry Durex 21.08.2014 06:13 |
^ You hit the bar man : ) It does sound like a nice transfer though so a flac would be great. |
OwenSmith 07.01.2015 08:03 |
Lossless is essential for the four Alan Freeman '77 tracks we are looking for on Royal Rarities Vol 1. Lossy encoding like MP3 damages quadraphonic matrix encoding. |
OwenSmith 07.01.2015 08:17 |
Looks like it is possible to stream these tracks from last.fm: link I have no idea if it is possible to get a lossless stream out of last.fm, I haven't used last.fm since it stopped being free. |
OwenSmith 07.01.2015 19:17 |
BETA215 wrote: They are in MP3 =/My contact for quadraphonic decodes is downloading an MP3 copy. He says this may be good enough to determine whether they are quadraphonic Matrix H encoded, and to judge audio quality, and indeed whether Alan Freeman is the DJ (he'll recognise Freeman's voice). However, he has confirmed that for a successful quadraphonic decode he needs lossless copies of the tracks. You mentioned your friend gave you a link for this, can he do it again lossless (FLAC or WAV ideally)? It's only the 4 Alan Freeman '77 tracks we need for this purpose, though I'm sure the rest of Queenzone would appreciate the entire thing lossless. |
Barry Durex 08.01.2015 09:36 |
Surely somebody has the silvers by now? |
OwenSmith 08.01.2015 15:19 |
No-one selling them on ebay. |
OwenSmith 09.01.2015 19:47 |
I found an old Queenzone thread discussing Royal Rarities: link This says the Alan Freeman '77 We Will Rock You on it has the fake audience noise. Maybe we now know when it was added? The Alan Freeman quad sessions were mixed by Tony Wilson to produce the quad versions. Maybe, just maybe, he put the audience in to create the quad effect? This is only a theory, I have no hard evidence. |

Program Title - Jonathan King Rules (produced By Dave Tate) There is also a Quad reel / broadcast listed here (December 3rd 1978) http://www.eclipse67.com/kbi.htm In 2006, the King Biscuit tape archives were acquired by Wolfgang's Vault. They began streaming concerts online and made some available for download, including: link |

I do have both volumes, if anyone has any questions regarding them....... |
Barry Durex 17.11.2016 02:16 |
Only one question, can you upload them please? |
BETA215 18.11.2016 01:26 |
Yes, upload them please. And if you rip them in FLAC you'll be heavily loved by some users :D (or maybe by lots of users, depending on our luck) |
Cockeye 18.11.2016 15:05 |
I really don't want to be a dick about this but unfortunately I live out in the middle of nowhere and I only have (on a good day) 0.5mbps upload. I suspect that wouldn't provide a good torrent. If anyone can recommend someone trustworthy and good, who is willing to torrent them then I am willing to rip them to FLAC (I've never done it before, but sure there's a good free utility on iMac to do it) - and upload them to one drive temporarily for someone to download them and torrent them, as long as they credit me for the rip. I don't want everyone downloading them from my one drive as I'm confident my account will last about three seconds and I need it for work! :) |
Barry Durex 18.11.2016 15:38 |
Thanks Cockeye. How about uploading them one at a time (in flac) to wetransfer? |
BETA215 18.11.2016 18:12 |
Cockeye, can't you upload it to MEGA? I'm aware of your situation, I also have a 0.5mbps upload speed in the best days. If you want to be sure the file won't be deleted, send me a PM. I have a small hack for protecting files, if you're interested. |
. 19.11.2016 07:04 |
Is it the 5 disc set? link |
Cockeye 19.11.2016 12:02 |
I know it's in two volumes and I'm pretty sure one is two discs and one is three discs. I will check and get back asap. |
Barry Durex 20.11.2016 03:31 |
Vol 1 (3 discs) released in 1996, Vol 2 (2 discs) released in 2001. |
Cockeye 21.11.2016 06:29 |
Apologies that it's taking me so long to reply every time. My mother in law is staying, and my 6 month old daughter has a chest infection which she has had for a month and can't fix so there's not much sleep and a lot of busy-ness going on. I also have nearly a thousand CDs and although they are all stored alphabetically and then chronologically it can take a while to find one. I have now dug it out - and it is the five disc version. Sadly (and you're all going to hate me for this) I am missing Volume 1 disc 2 - however as this is my favourite disc it may well be in one of the car's CD players. I'll have a look later today. I will also investigate MEGA this afternoon - any other suggestions of where to upload would be appreciated. Two questions : If I can't find the missing disc, would you like the rest uploaded at least - or are you only interested in the complete set? And secondly should I post in announce section when I have uploaded? Cheers. |
. 21.11.2016 07:18 |
Masahiko has the missing disc but I'm not sure if he is still posting. Hopefully though, your car has it also. You could still upload the other four discs, most people only have the mp3's of the set. As there is official material on the discs, perhaps share download links by pm or email? |
Barry Durex 05.12.2016 09:23 |
So what's the score Cockeye? |
Cockeye 25.12.2016 14:34 |
Sorry guys. Sorry sorry sorry. Been trying to fit in job applications, full time baby care (a job I am most certainly NOT cut out for, and not doing very well at) and other stuff. I never forgot this, but never really had time. The good news is that today (of all days) I found the missing CD and checked it on a drive out for Christmas lunch. The good news is it plays fine, That bad news is that the iMac is in storage for Christmas to make way for the tree so I am relying on the iPad which obviously has no CD drive or CD ripping facilities :( When the iMac is back up and running I promise that I will get it done but that won't be until the first week of January. I know I've promised and promised - and it will be done I promise..... Sorry. We And merry Christmas! |
Barry Durex 01.01.2017 06:57 |
Looking forward to it, and happy new year. |
