Queen Chicago, IL, USA Chicago Stadium December 7, 1978 Lineage: AUD > Master (Technics RS-646DS) > WAV > CDR (2) > WAV > GoldWave (edits smoothed out) > FLAC frontend level 8 I received this recording directly from the taper himself, so it simply can't get any better than this! It's a truly excellent recording. Like the Chicago 80 show, I can't see why anyone would want to distribute anything else from this date, as this version renders all the others obsolete. It is my goal that this share accomplishes exactly that. Since 90 minute tapes were used, there are the expected slight cuts: during the Don't Stop Me Now segment, after Fat Bottomed Girls, and during We Are The Champions. GSTQ cuts out early as well. Freddie is a bit off on this night, but the quality still makes this one essential. Enjoy! Disc 1: 1. We Will Rock You (fast) 2. Let Me Entertain You 3. Somebody To Love 4. If You Can't Beat Them 5. Death On Two Legs 6. Killer Queen 7. Bicycle Race 8. I'm In Love With My Car 9. Get Down Make Love 10. You're My Best Friend 11. Now I'm Here 12. Don't Stop Me Now (segment, cuts out) Disc 2: 1. Spread Your Wings 2. Dreamers Ball 3. Love Of My Life 4. '39 5. It's Late 6. Brighton Rock 7. Fat Bottomed Girls 8. Keep Yourself Alive 9. Bohemian Rhapsody 10. Tie Your Mother Down 11. Sheer Heart Attack 12. We Will Rock You 13. We Are The Champions 14. God Save The Queen DO NOT CONVERT THIS RECORDING TO MP3/WMA/OGG or any other lossy format, unless it's for your OWN use, and nobody else's. If you want an mp3 recording of this show, then find an older share of an inferior version. The quality of this version must be maintained. If I discover that this version was converted to a lossy format, then I will NEVER share a thing here again. It goes without question that one should include the lineage information when distributing this recording. This is how people can be certain they are receiving the best version possible. Here are all eight parts: link link link link link link link link |

Thank you for another great show! I'm so busy with updating all my mp3 shows, that I don't have time left for my work. "My pleasure! What would you like next?" If you ask a question like that, you get an answer: What about Frankfurt 1980? It's one of my top 5 gigs and I have it in a VG mp3 version, that's not satisfying at all. I've heard there's a better version available. Do you accidentally have that? |
Another Person 10.10.2006 11:47 |
thanks a lot again Bob cheers |

Thanx for this excellent Chicago 1978. Future wishes:Osaka 1976,such a great concert. |
The Real Wizard 10.10.2006 12:58 |
Frankfurt 80 is a frustrating one to think about at the moment. I have a version on cd in great quality, missing SHA and GSTQ, but in mono sound. I also have the "Imagine" bootleg on the Gypsy Eye label which is complete (the gaps are filled in with an alternate source), in stereo, and with better bass - but it's full of digital clicks, and the balance inverts a hundred times at least, for a split second each time, accompanied with harsh digital clicks. Listening in headphones is incredibly annoying. Some bootleg labels tend to destroy their recordings on purpose for the public, and Gypsy Eye has done it with most of their releases. I would share the incomplete mono one, but it wouldn't be a safisfying share, simply because I know I could do better with this show. Maybe one day I'll have the patience to fix up the Gypsy Eye version. But for now, I'd like to leave this one alone, unless someone has a low generation tape copy in stereo they could share. |

hi sir gh are we getting last 3 parts of this? cheers andy |
The Real Wizard 10.10.2006 13:29 |
They're coming! It's only 8 parts actually, and one more to go. Osaka 76... there's a 2pm and a 6pm show, both of which were recorded and sound great. Ok, I'll share the 2pm show, because the screaming girls aren't nearly as close-by on this recording as the 6pm show, and most Japanese recordings. It's first generation from the old LP, so it's probably the best version. I'll work on it a bit, because there are definitely some ticks from the LP that could be fixed. |

It's about time! Cologne 79 was one of my first bootlegs too, after Hammersmith 75 and the first night in Milano 84. I originally downloaded the 13-track version of Cologne from the QZ server on dial-up. I had just discovered this site then, and that was about 7 years ago now. I was so excited to hear a bootleg from the Live Killers tour. That was also my first experience with a bootleg that played at the wrong speed. It was so amazing to hear the Fun It intro to KYA for the first time. Ah, those were the days... |
