Alex Solan wrote: "Barry is another of our celebrity "readers", as some may remember that John Frankel from the "Left Handed Marriage" also wrote in here, earlier this year." I invite to Brian May and/or Roger Taylor to join the site (with a username) and share some comments and stories with us! (an almost utopic idea but since Brian has visited this site - I've read that somewhere... not in wikipedia! - it wouldn't be a crazy idea) *Roger writing here? Nah...*That would be great, but if Brian visited Queenzone in the last month or so, i think that he doesn't want to come back again. For me this August was the worst month of Queenzone!- Too much hate goin'around. Lets hope that things are calming down a little. Take care |
LIZAWITHAZ 30.08.2005 09:29 |
LOL! Brian does write here (and I'm not him by the way!) But a friend of mine has noticed that he does sometimes write here. Not too sure what name he uses but he hasn't written here for quite sometime. He mostly voices his opinions on his own site and who can blame him. Better to remain anonymous, and by the way who cares who posts here especially if they are willing to lend a hand in adding their information without giving their identity away. With so much misinformation about the band out there who cares who's posting the correct information as long as it is correct and can be verified. As far as Barry Mitchell is concerned he's just lending a hand to the fans who are interested in what he has to add. Thanks Barry. Cheers, David |

Cheers, niek Hi Niek, Obviously I took a keen interest ih the bands career, but i only went to one show. It was one of the autumn shows at Imperial College in 1973. My favourite song would be a toss up between Stonecold Crazy and Liar. I went to see Roger with The Cross in the 90's at The Junction, Cambridge. And got backstage to say hello after all these years. Which was nice. |

Yes the kensington market stall was a frequent meeting point for us. We set off for our Liverpool gigs from there a few times. It was a small area just by the top of the secondary stairway. I haven't been there for a number of years, but the last time the space was still there. It was a very different place in 1970, most stalls were run by Hippies and the place smelt of incense and goodwill. It aint like that anymore. The stock on the stall was mostly old clothes as I remember. Barry |

Somebody (Roger I think) had the idea that we should go see what passed for a X rated dirty movie in those days. And I remember we found it so hilarious that we could not stop laughing out loud. It seemed that we were upsetting the natives , so we were asked to leave. Hey thats Rock and roll for ya! No, I dont think Brian did do the little solo thing in my days Regards. Barry |

To be honest I didn't imagine that the band would go on to be so huge. They were still searching for a direction I felt. Plus most of the material was old smile songs, and the songwriting skills that they demonstrated later were yet to surface. But there was certainly a very professional approach to rehearsals, with Freddie being the most vocal when it came to ideas. He usually got his way! Cheers. Barry |
