I have a small request. I've heard from many people that Queen original recorded different versions of the unreleased song, Silver Salmon. Even an extended version seems to exist, whitch is availible on a compilation bootleg.
I believe it was called: Royal Rarities.
I have a small mp3 of the Silver Salmon song, though it's cut and is in average quality. I would like a better version if it's availible.
Does anybody have this song in good quality or has a bootleg with this song on it?
Thanks in advance.
there are several "parts" but they are all principally the same version - but different recordings - ie from ocnventions etc
there is also the mysterious extd version -wht the blues'rock tagged on - but SS is the same take

Nope sorry :-D
"Gedaan" in Dutch simply means in English: "done".
You were pretty close though.

there are about 6/7 "parts"
but they are all the same
the only differences
are the start points
the volume and clarity of band speech
the clarity of the music
the end point
the "blues/rock" fake bit
but if you listen to the body of each take they are the same

I can mail to you my version of the song (perhaps the_hero offered to do the same thing, but I don't speak Dutch, so I've got no idea. Well, it's not excellent quality, but it's the entire song and I kinda like it. Just send me your email adress.
Question: when was this recorded? I think somebody reffered to it as a Smile track redid by Queen. Is it so?
I think it was recorded during the Queen II sessions. But I've heard that Brian originally wrote it during the recording for the first Queen album.
Anyway I would very much like to have your version if possible!
My email adress is: jeroen_van_eden@wanadoo.nl
Thanks very much! :-)
now i feel utterly confused
i wasn't aware of Brian's writing claim
because I thought it belonged to Freddie's (so-called) bible trilogy
Jesus
Silver Salmon
Mad The Swine
happy to be corrected - but it thought all three were Brian songs
is someone here confusing Silver Salmon writing credit with Polar Bear?
