If you're going to a UK show take a banner along with you saying' It's Late or Spread your wings' Maybe Brian will get the message... |

SweetCaroline wrote: It doesn’t matter. The show is magnificent with or without IL and SYW !!!!!Yeah so you keep saying. The show is magnificent, Adam is so what ever, you've watched every live feed and video and went to a show and that was magnificent too And it doesn't matter that they play the same songs compiled from a very short list from a possible 100 + songs (or what ever it is) just as long as you think it's magnificent and Adam is whatever. . . Never mind the real Queen fans who are aware just how amazing these shows could have been. Have a magnificent time watching the magnificent Adam in Birmingham on your magnificent PC or laptop or what ever. |

It'll look God damn stupid if they arrive on stage on time! |
SweetCaroline 30.11.2017 16:38 |
Read the glowing reviews from Liverpool which were not written by Moi! LOL. You are wrong. The whole show is magnificent. Adam is only one of 6 very talented musicians on that stage, two of whom are legends and if you are a long time Queen fan, you should appreciate that more than me. |
Kuijpy 30.11.2017 18:32 |
Drop dead caroline, everytime with that scare affection for Adam... He likes men not girls.. Queen must play: Rock u fast Rock you Champions Sheer heart attack for day oh Fight from the inside for love with car Sleeping for selfie stick Its late, spread ur wings for breakfree and magic. |

The production value of the show is great and the setlist is great compared to what we had to settle for in the Pre-Queen+ era, which was basically Brian and Roger playing We Will Rock You and Tie Your Mother Down. I would say, also, the average Q+AL setlist is better than the average Q+Paul Rodgers setlist. With Paul, we found resignation in saying "well, of course Paul is not going to sing Killer Queen or Lap of the Gods or The Hero..." But then, Adam has the range and the stage persona to pull it off... even more, THEY HAVE PLAYED MANY MORE SONGS ALREADY. Didn't they play Keep yourself alive, We will rock you (fast) and The Hero in 2012 or so? Oh, and they played Spread your wings AND It's-mother-fucking-Late a few times earlier in the tour, after having advertised it as a News of the World Anniversary tour. I know Love of my life is usually a highlight (not so much in the U.S., really, nobody sang it in a few shows I went to)... but after you've seen it once or twice, it's not so touching, poignant, etc., but feels forced and rehearsed - because it is. They pretty much peaked with their first 5 shows or so this tour. They then dropped TWO amazing songs, fan favorites, in favor of I Want to Break Free (yawn), which is not really popular in the U.S. I Want it all shone in the 2005 tour but now it's boring as hell. Lazy, lazy stuff, these setlists. Especially knowing HOW GREAT IT WAS ONLY a few days before! They got so much SO RIGHT in the first shows that it makes it so disappointing when they revert to their comfort zone. For a NOTW Anniversary they SHOULD HAVE OPENED with Rock You (Fast). No excuses. Or the WWRY (Slow) then (Fast) combo like in 1977. Then keep SYW and It's Late in the setlist. GDML was a surprising and surprisingly good addition. Then you can say, "well, they're playing 5-6 songs from the album.. it's the anniversary. Makes sense." |
Iron Butterfly 30.11.2017 19:12 |
Don't think IL and SYW will be played at all during this tour. AL said on Twitter those songs were dropped 'because we felt like it'. Not really a good enough reason. |
Vocal harmony 30.11.2017 21:32 |
I think Adam's comment was a bit of bravado. Rather than saying other songs were getting a better reaction. It does seem a bit strange that they haven't tried one or both or maybe a different NOTW song in Europe or the UK where the audiences maybe a little more accommodating to one or two album tracks To me the whole News Of The World images for the show and merchandise doesn't sit well with the relative lack of material from the album |
Your Fairy King 30.11.2017 21:47 |
Imagine Led Zeppelin reforming for a Physical Graffiti show/tour and only performing Kasmir and Trampled Under Foot - while there were at least three other songs from that album that had been played on tour at the time. But... (speaking of which)... at least Brian May is still out performing while he still can while Jimmy rests on his laurels. |
Holly2003 30.11.2017 22:21 |
Jimmy's been busy doing this: link while Brian plays the same guitar solo every night for 40+ years. |

SweetCaroline 30.11.2017 23:05 |
I get it! I saw them at Live Aid in 1985. I think the audiences are happy with them playing the hits in this stage of their lives and careers! |

Iron Butterfly 30.11.2017 23:24 |
@ sweetcaroline, it's ironic you keep bringing up Live Aid. You watched it on TV like I did. Remember the crap you gave people who didn't go to Q+AL and somehow that upset you do much? Gee, it's clear as day you are here to promote AL. |

Can I just say, while I find SweetCaroline somewhat annoying, but at times trying to be helpful, the comments from Kuijpy towards this person on many threads is deeply offensive, and actually worrying. I could go through many threads and at times the comments by Kuijpy is threatening, degrading, and very personal. If anyone needs to get back in their box is it Kuijpy. |
SweetCaroline 02.12.2017 01:06 |
Thanks, Toon_86! Sorry to be annoying. Yes I am old but 8-1/2 years ago when I accidentally discovered Adam on AI I thought he somewhat resembled Elvis and I was attracted to his charisma, humble personality and powerful, pitch perfect voice! After his middle Eastern version of “Ring of Fire,” I was a goner! LOL. I’ve seen him perform live 7 times, 4 solo tours and 3 QAL tours! I don’t know what he will do in the future because the powerful Queen music is so perfect for him! |

At least she is doing great work bringing up info and attention about these tours on the forum |
Iron Butterfly 02.12.2017 20:39 |
Copying and pasting glowing tweets, articles and info that is readily available elsewhere, isn't what I would call great work. I wonder if sweetcaroline has any thoughts of her own other than it being magnificent, spectacular, etc. I have thoughts of my own. I wish there was more rehearsal time for these shows, because if there was more time, this should and could be so better with other songs, you know instead of plonking an AL solo song in there. |
SweetCaroline 02.12.2017 21:54 |
Icy, you are incorrigible! These guys are so good together they don’t need a ton of rehearsal time. They do sound checks before every show and I imagine they brush up on their cues so they don’t arrive on stage at the wrong time! I do not think they stopped playing IL and SYW because they didn’t rehearse them enough. I think those two songs didn’t fit smoothly in the show and didn’t generate as much love from the audience as other songs did. |
Iron Butterfly 02.12.2017 22:33 |
Another insult. Yes, more rehearsal time was needed especially with the new stage, light set up, and if there was enough bother to be 'dangerous' and AL messing up Bohemian Rhapsody. Can't you figure that out? Of course, you don't think it matters...as long as AL is the one singing the songs. You didn't even give a word about DOOL other than telling me to take note, and asking if I was watching it. FFS, why don't they drop the bike, drop the solo song AL does, drop him crawling around during GDML, drop the fkn crown, cape, especially when there's so much more than could be done. Some of what AL does is beyond tacky. |
SweetCaroline 03.12.2017 00:00 |
Drop the bike? Are you out of your friggin’ mind? I bet Freddie would absolutely adore that! |
Iron Butterfly 03.12.2017 00:38 |
@ sweetcaroline, I'm stating my opinion about the bike. You say that you bet Freddie would've loved that. What the fk? Leave what you think you he would have loved, because you are no fan of Freddie's. You only bring him up to compare hm with AL and if you think it would help your point/s for pro Q+AL views.. Guess what? It doesn't help you or your views makes you look desperate that you 'bet' he would have loved it. You are friggin desperate. And out of your mind! |
SweetCaroline 03.12.2017 00:58 |
Icy, you are pathetic and the most negative human on the planet! Adam is funny, not tacky but you wouldn’t know because you don’t have a sense of humor! You think Adele and Sam Smith are funny! |
Iron Butterfly 03.12.2017 01:12 |
The insults keep coming from you today, eh. Did you notice I was happy when DOOL was played again, or do you continue to point fingers my way no matter what. Very telling you keep on bleating that I like Adele's and Sam Smith's music? Does it bother you somehow? Because you sure have been negative and outright nasty to other artists and their fans. |
Vocal harmony 04.12.2017 14:29 |
SweetCaroline wrote: I get it! I saw them at Live Aid in 1985. I think the audiences are happy with them playing the hits in this stage of their lives and careers!Yet this site and Queenonline are full of genuine fans complaining about the setlist. Are you airing views with no real understanding of the subject, or are you on some kind of crusade to prove that you're happy with the set list so the rest of the world should fall in line with your thoughts. Either way you seem to ignoring the facts |
SweetCaroline 04.12.2017 15:16 |
Vocal Harmony, all I’m saying is that the people who are attending these shows, whether they are Queen fans from the days of Freddie or Queen fans from the days of Adam, are having a great time, some of them saying it is the best concert they have EVER been to. From my own experience back in July, I was hoping they were going to include IL and SYW from the NOTW album, but it didn’t matter that they didn’t include them because what they DID perform was absolutely MAGNIFICENT !!! |
Iron Butterfly 04.12.2017 20:51 |
Sweetcaroline, is on a crusade to turn people into Glamberts. That's basically it. So I will say this to and about you sweetcaroline. Yes, the set list matters. You don't think it matters because you are not a Queen fan. You don't understand the hope some Q fans had that it would be kept in the set list after all the hype. If anything doesn't matter in these shows, it's the AL solo song. Q+AL tried to push GT and TF , and now with another AL solo song, when there was so many more better Queen songs that deserve to be played. It really comes across they don't care enough to even consider that. |
SweetCaroline 05.12.2017 01:22 |
Icy, it didn’t matter at the time of the show because it was so great. I sincerely wish you had been able to attend a live show so you could know what I mean and stop fighting me about it. It’s not just about Adam. I love the Queen music as much as you do, maybe even more, but I accept and don’t try to dictate what they end up including in their shows. I LOVE the way Adam sings I Was Born To Love You but they only play that one in Japan and Korea so should I be like you and constantly fuss about it? |
Iron Butterfly 05.12.2017 03:39 |
Even more proof that you need and want praise only, sweetcaroline aka CNB. Yea, I wish I could went too. For the 100th time, my mother took ill suddenly, so I could not have gone. Being with her was more important, i thought she wasn't going to make it in June and October and the fkn nerve of you to still bleating on that you wish I went to a fkn concert so I can stop fighting you about it? How very self serving and selfish you come across. Pretty much it's all about promoting and defending AL to you isn't it? To hell what anyone else ever has to say unless they fully agree with you. I'm allowed to give my views about anything I want. It's you who can't or won't accept that. You never did, and you never will obviously. I'm not being offensive about AL unless you think my bringing up the fact he messed up Bohemian Rhapsody three times in a row is offensive or insulting to AL in your eyes. Even here you had to bring up that you love Queen and much as me, maybe even more? .Really now. Why not discuss them sometimes instead of throwing a fit about a thread on QOL that was made with good intentions? Even that pissed you off. You still cannot discuss much of Queen unless you are comparing it to AL. Did Freddie ever lay his head on Brian's shoulder like AL? Or whatever the hell it was you compared recently. I long for what could be better in these shows, and yes, I feel it could be better. I'm a Queen fan first and foremost, and yes that includes Freddie. I'm not going to be sorry because you clearly don't understand that. |
SweetCaroline 05.12.2017 03:59 |

Iron Butterfly 05.12.2017 04:10 |

Mave 05.12.2017 15:54 |
I'm not taking any banners. I've enjoyed the evening in Amsterdam and I'm sure I will enjoy Birmingham next week. I've seen Queen with Freddie perform many times and didn't miss It's late or SYW then. Obviously I'd like them to play these songs - and many more of the less known ones - but cannot expect them to. The tens of thousands op people also at the arena's want to hear the Queen hitsongs they know, so that's what they play. If I were Queen I would also ignore the +/- 100 fans who want to hear the unkown songs - I would ignore them even more if they let just that spoil their evening (can you call yourself a fan then?).... The show as it is is absolutely perfect. The band must be suprised to read the positive reviews in the press - something they never ever experienced when touring with Freddie... |
SweetCaroline 05.12.2017 17:14 |
Yes, perfect and magnificent! |
ggo1 08.12.2017 20:18 |
It is possible to enjoy the show but still wish they had put more deep cuts into the set. I was really pissed off they dropped IL and SYW before I got to see them in Toronto, but it was still a good show... just not as great a show as it would have been if they had included one of those two tracks. (For me) It is possible to enjoy something without believing it is absolutely the greatest thing ever. There is middle ground... just not on the internet. |
