Queen Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo ("Morumbi" stadium), Sao Paulo, Brazil March 20, 1981 Tracklist: 01. Intro 02. We Will Rock You 03. Let Me Entertain' You 04. Play The Game 05. Somebody To Love 06. Save Me 07. Fat Bottomed Girls 08. Love Of My Life 09. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 10. Bohemian Rhapsody 11. We Are The Champions 12. God Save The Queen 13. Another One Bites The Dust (Alternative clip). The first Queen show ever on Brazil was a milestone in their career. They played to 131,000 enthusiastic people, the largest paying audience for a single band at the time. Through the years, several video copies of this concert have circulated, but all in bad quality. This version comes from a 1991 rebroadcast by Globo TV in a program called "Hollywood Rock Live". (I'm not sure whether it was for the 10th anniversary of the concert or after the death of Freddie Mercury). This rebroadcast is only a 41 mins edit, with footage of the band and audience copied and pasted around, even with some trademarks appearing briefly on screen. But fortunately is better quality than the other previous copies. This DVD includes the alternative clip of 'Another One Bites The Dust' as a bonus track. This project was developed by karl Rivery and Mack Mantilla with a big help from Chief Mouse. And was made after the 35th anniversary of this concert as a way of thanking Queenzone for all the wonderful shares. So please keep it for free. If you would like to share this outside Queenzone, distribute the DVD "as is" including this text file. Don't re-encode it, and please don't use it as a basis for a commercial bootleg. Technical details : Length : 44 mins Resolution : NTSC 720x420 Framerate : 29fps AVG bitrate : 9Mbps Audio 1: 2.0 MPEG 384kbps (FM stereo broadcast) Audio 2: 1.0 Dolby Digital 112kbps (Original Mono source) Video cleanup: Chief Mouse Color enhancing and multi audio: Karl Rivery Video source and DVD authoring: Mack Mantilla Youtube: https://youtu.be/1Oq2pNdh6no Download link: https://we.tl/NEe5Z5hrzg (available until april 14). |

That South American tour is one of the most important and best moments in Queen's career. Thanks a lot! It's such a pity there's no decent recording of the second night. From what I can hear on the very very bad recording that second night is even better with Freddie in full voice in front of 120.000 fans... And with a great great setlist. They even performed Rock it! Queen Productions should really open up to their fans and start releasing whatever they have in audio form from those legendary shows. Such a fans only series will in no way slow down the sales of the big releases like Rainbow '74, hammy'75 or other Wembleys of this world :-) |

The VOB is faulty. There are duplicates and several frames are skipped. The real frame rate is roughly 19 FPS (checked by manually removing duplicates from 1 second 30 frames long footage). It is quite a shame because the colour correction seemed pretty nice. So there :P |

Chief, basically this dvd is from the video that 'leaked' a week or two ago, but color - corrected, isn't it? |

I'm glad someone else noticed the VOB problems as I didn't want to say and seem ungrateful. Thanks to all involved - this would be a great share if it can be fixed :) |

So there :PThe problem might actually be with the mkv file, even if that seems to play ok. For some reason re-encoding that particular mkv to vob results in duplicate frames. Did you do something different this time when you processed the source file to mkv? Was there anything unusual about the source file given to you to process? |

Did you do something different this time when you processed the source file to mkv? Was there anything unusual about the source file given to you to process? I'm not sure, but the MKV is fine. So I'd recommend choosing different means of converting. I just converted 1 minute long footage from my MKV with Handbrake, frame rate appears to be fine. The way I would do, if I was to edit the footage, I would open the MKV in Avisynth first. Make an .AVS file, open it with notepad and write - FFVideoSource("QUEEN_LiveSpecial1981 [CM].mkv") or FFVideoSource("H:\Videos\Concerts\Queen\QUEEN_LiveSpecial1981 [CM].mkv") (The filename above is how I originally named it, also make sure that the AVS file is in the same folder as the video file so that it can read it without us having to write the folder path beforehand, or you can provide the path regardless). Close and save the AVS file and drag and drop it in VirtualDub, then one can render it out as uncompressed AVI and can easily be edited in a program like Vegas Pro with no problems and no quality loss. The filesize will be very big though, but it's not a huge problem these days. You only need those 100 GB temporarily anyway. |
