Alright, a couple of thoughts. Live Aid - the video starts with silence. Why? Was it a "deliberate creative decision" (George Lucas should patent that term) or don't you have a complete radio broadcast of Live Aid? If the later, would you like to have radio recording at least for the intro? - the end gets out of sync, the final seconds of Is This The World We Created, and apparently on both audio tracks Milton Keynes - mono radio mix? Isn't it the TV mix? Also, would you like/have time to/want to try to sync it to also the audience recording? Live Magic - great job, I love it. Maybe you'd like to add the pro-shot footage of Knebworth? Thanks for that, it was really enjoyable. I have done in the past Wembley first night synced with the audience recording and Wembley second night synced with a mix of the radio broadcast and the audience recording, so I know it's a tough work :) Do you plan to do Tokyo 85 synced with the radio broadcast? That's one of the things I'm planning to do for the last 10-15 years but I never had the time for it |

That's one of the things I'm planning to do for the last 10-15 years but I never had the time for it The stereo Live Aid source starts when it starts, I could have just used the official audio to fill in the silence in the beginning, but I decided to leave it as it was. I am aware of the slight issue on the last song, but I believe it's due to the video editing, since it also happens on the official mix. Yeah, it's the TV mix, that was a slight brain fart on my side :P I'd love to try the audience source, I did request the source in some old Milton Keynes threads, but nothing ever popped up - if you have it, I'll be glad to take a look at it :) Again, If you have it, I'll be glad to take a look at it :) And yes, I will be synchronizing the Tokyo '85 show to the radio broadcast, I completed it back in September and uploaded it to my YouTube channel (where it was quickly removed, stating it would be uploaded to the official Queen channel in the "coming weeks"), but it needs some more work :) |

I think the QTV version has the best quality. And it also has Get Down Make Love (and some between song bits) that this better-sounding audio doesn't have - hence the mystery of where the audio came from. There are a lot of versions here... have a look ! link There's also a 45 minute version apparently from the master out there. I'm looking into it. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2014 00:07 |
Another request - Here's a 1982 German TV special called "Musik Scene" that contains some Frankfurt 82 footage. link Is there any chance you could extract those bits (Flash, The Hero, Tie Your Mother Down), use the audience tape for the parts with voiceover, and add a .mkv to this thread? And - if you could add the bit of TYMD from Frankfurt from Rare Live, then we'll have the most complete footage of the show possible ! |
pittrek 29.11.2014 11:10 |
Will anybody object if I share my Wembley videos? The first one is synced with the audience recording, the second one has 2 tracks - the audience recording and a merge of the radio broadcast with the audience recording. I still can't decide if it's OK to share them publicly. |

Number 2 is borderline unlistenable to me, just because the taper had the recorder in his pocket for most of the show. When I listen to Now I'm Here and Liar, I'm sad wishing the rest of the show sounded like that. A matrix of just those two tracks with the video feed would indeed be fantastic. But the rest would just pale in comparison. |

Thank you for the words, and yes I'm still working on it. The Milton Keynes audience recording has a lot of speed fluctuations, so that is going to take longer than I expected. Well I'm totally confused with all these versions. What I will say is they all look like they may well originate from the version at TTD, and that they have all had the 9 erased from the top right corner. The versions without the sporadic 9 would all have a blurry blob in its place in top right corner as the 9 was part of the original TV broadcast. Also, the version at TTD did not have any QTV logo to begin with. |
DepeX 11.01.2015 14:56 |
I've got the one with the QTV logo. It was shared also here on QZ, but the DVD was corrupted (I think), so I downloaded the same version from RuTracker |

I'd still like a bit of info on bootLucas screen shot. I don't think there was any QTV logo at all, the "9" logo is removed though, except for the source provided by The Kurgan. The pic the BootLuca shared, was from the Snow version AFAIK |

Can I ask what's the source for the Buenos Aires videos? The QTV logo has been removed and some sort of noise reduction has been performed, so the image is pretty "soft". It actually reminds me on an experiment I did maybe 10 years ago :-) |

Nitroboy wrote: The pic the BootLuca shared, was from the Snow version AFAIKThis version perhaps? I did not realize there was an un-cropped version, does anyone have it? I think it may also suffer from blurry blob syndrome though. |

I wouldn't call it "the best" version. It's just darkened and logos are removed (blured). |

The original QTV version has much more detail, but also much more "problems" (which is probably why somebody denoised it). And also it has the audience gaps which are missing from this source. Still I hope the first QTV broadcast version (without the QTV logo) will appear here one day :-) |

Barry Durex wrote: Well I'm totally confused with all these versions. The concert was shown on QTV at least twice, for the first time it was without the logo, they added it for the later "broadcast(s)". The full concert was broadcast on TV more than once, so that COULD explain the missing "9" |
Thistle 14.01.2015 08:29 |
The blur on the top right has always put me off watching this show. That, and the Snow "cropped" version. |

pittrek wrote: The full concert was broadcast on TV more than once, so that COULD explain the missing "9"As far as I know the ''full'' broadcast was only shown on Canal 9 and as such would have the intermittent 9. |

kevukuk wrote: Just grabbed a few of these, thanks, hopefully get the rest over the next few days. No problem :) And I've removed the Milton Keynes audience source mix from the list, since that tape just has too many speed fluctuations for me to deal with. As for the Wembley mixes, I'm not going to hurry them, since Pittrek's versions are excellent alternatives. |
Sue Dounim 04.04.2015 23:21 |
Have you considered syncing Pittrek's audio mix of Sao Paulo '81 over the video, and filling the cuts with pictures from the show? I think that'd be pretty great. |
MackMantilla 08.04.2015 12:35 |
Excellent work. Thanks for all of these! :) |

This might be asking a lot but could a version of the Buenos Aires mix be put up without the 10 minute stage building sequence? |

UPDATE If I ever get around to working on the Wembley videos, it will most likely just be an edit with the 2nd night synchronized to the radio broadcast. Like I did with Milton Keynes and Tokyo. |

The term "rendering" is used for creating ANY video using a NLE these days, not just animated |

I updated the Mannheim video recently, it is a 3rd version, that you can watch here. It uses ALL of the high quality bits from the Magic Years documentary. Plus the sync is a bit better (in my opinion). The file in the folder is 1440x1080p :) |
Nitroboy 11.12.2015 10:45 |
I forgot to mention that the audio I used is from the SWF3 Open Air '86 (COMPLETE Mannheim 1986) project :) Big thanks to those involved in that. |

Nitroboy wrote: I was just wondering... What about Hammersmith 1979? :)I personally would love to hear full un-cut audience recording merged with all videos available! Pittrek's version contains all footage that was available back then. I would add the rest of songs to make full show containing all footage that is available today. Chinwonder2 is doing this kind of videos. I would use audience recording because it has great quality and we wouldn't have all those source/quality changes. I must admit that I'm not the biggest fan of some soundboard recordings which can be very sterile. I love to hear audience reactions and singing (like Leiden versus Montreal 81 release) and I can feel the enegry they had that day :) I was trying to do this but I can't. I never did such a thing. Pittrek mentioned above about mkvtoolnix. Is it a kind of advanced video editor? Maybe I could try then, but I'm sure some people here could do it much better! To me this would be definitive version until Queen decide to release this great concert |

^ MKVToolNix is a muxer. It joins or separates video & audio. |
Chopin1995 24.06.2017 07:35 |
^ So I guess this is what I need? Is it possible in MKVToolNix to synchronize video and audio? Let's say video and audience recording runs at different speed. Can I correct that? |

Chopin1995 wrote: ^ So I guess this is what I need? Is it possible in MKVToolNix to synchronize video and audio? Let's say video and audience recording runs at different speed. Can I correct that? No. It literally only joins the two things together in a single file (MKV container). If you need to edit and alter stuff, you'll need an editing program (for either video/audio, or audio-only). As for Hammersmith 1979, I believe Pittrek already did a great compilation in 2015? |
Chopin1995 26.06.2017 05:23 |
Pittrek's compilation is amazing, like everything he does. But it was audio version, I'm talking about full video version with audience recording or maybe that Pittrek's recording if it is already speed corrected! Can you give me some examples of video+audio editor in which I could at least try to do mkv,vob or other losseless full video? Is there any for free to download? It seems I'll have a lot of free time next two or three months :) |

Hi Nitroboy. Would it be possible to provide another link to your mega folder. The link on page 1 no longer works.. (I was about to try to do something like this with the Japan 85 footage but discovered how long it would take to do. I then realised someone's probably done it already, a little search and found this fantastic set of work.) Thank you. |
