OK this might sound like an unusual request, but I'm searching for both WATC promos, the official one AND the Top Of The Pops edit.
The official releases are pretty much useless.
The Greatest Flix VHS/DVD is cut on both the beginning and the end, and the official Greatest Video Hits DVD is cropped to 16:9 (and I have a feeling it's re-edited too).
Top Of The Pops - not sure if this was officially released or not, but all I have is the rebroadcast version, which has a "fact track" on the bottom (something like this : link
)
I am of course searching for the official promo, which is not edited or cropped, and for the TOTP version without the text facts on the bottom.
How do I know they exists? They must exist, as this youtube video proves : link
There is a TOTP version without banners shown fairly recently.
Also, another version without banners was shared on here but I can't find the post now.
Both are listed on this forum. link
Isn't the best uncropped official version on the first laserdisc release?
One of the original TOTP shows featuring the video was repeated about a year ago, I'm pretty sure I've got a recording of it, but I can't remember if the video is uncut.
Here's the version from TOTP on November 3rd 1977: link
Sadly it's not quite complete as it has that strange black/red line pattern obscuring the first few seconds (as with the TOTP2 video above).
It seems they showed the WATC video another four times (link so if we can get hold of any of those editions in good quality they might be an improvement.
Brilliant, thanks! It's a pity nobody cares enough to make a new transfer of the negatives, but still it's so much better than what I had before.
Does anybody have the official promo? I mean with the full beginning and the end and in 4:3
Thanks GinjaNinja for the video!
I was searching and I find the Greatest Hits VHS. Does this VHS contains full video? Or Queen Jewels DVD?
In GVH I, the video is in 16:9 and in GF I the video is cut. So, the video should be in one of that releases. I don't think this video is taken from a TV broadcast.

I have the UK / European version of Greatest Flix VHS and none of the songs is a standalone version, there are crossfades between the videos, so while the video is in original 4:3 aspect ratio it misses the beginning and the end.
I however have no idea about the American edition from Hollywood Records. Do you have this one?
Yes, the DVD is cropped to 16:9 and I really think it was re-edited (I think I read it somewhere, I didn't compare them)

No, I don't have the GH VHS. But if someone have this VHS, look at WATC, and if it's the full version rip the VHS and share it here, please.

So you think the VHS releases are different?
I very much doubt it.
Well, if the video isn't from that VHS, which contains a different version of Killer Queen, it could be from a TV broadcast. This are the last sources. I doubt the video is leaked from Queen's vault.

That's insane - watching that comparison video makes me realise I'm actually more familiar with the TOTP version. I ha no idea there were two as I assumed the TOTP one was the official. How weird.
It's far superior!
