Whilst "official" material is not allowed here, let's face facts:
Unless you email Carlton and complain about the missing second part of the interview, they aren't going to publically make available the download link that we've all heard about.
So, at the risk of getting banned, here is that link.
link Might I also say that it's mp3. Proving once again that substandard is the standard! Quite frankly I don't care about sharing this link. If they can't be bothered to organise a CD replacement service (It took Universal less than two weeks to organise such a service to Mike Oldfield fans who spotted an error on his last deluxe remaster release, so there's NO excuses Carlton/QPL.....), and simply feel they can fob us off with a shitty mp3 copy, then they can go fuck themselves and I'll happily spread this link for all to see... |

I understand your frustration, let's hope you have a blu ray player. |

Thanks. To be honest I expected they will send replacement discs for everybody. this is quite an disappointment |

Thanks for sharing this, but I can't seem to download it. Is the link still live? I'm disgusted that Carlton or QOL haven't made this more widely known. Such a let down as the Queen 40 book is by far the most interesting and quality product we've had from QP in a long time. |

The complete interview was split in two parts (tracks) and put on cd you have in your book. Now due to, I guess, pressing mistakes only the first part of the interview came on the cd... so the second part is missing. Big mistake of course.... and a very expensive one too. Well can't blame QP... they are used to it. |

Since no one answered the first time around... Is that both parts of the interview or is it just part 2? V. |

When Bowie At The Beeb came out in 2002 it erroniously had the same version of the track Ziggy Stardust twice. EMI sent out a replacement one track disc to those people who requested one. That set up another load of problems as there was no way of storing it in the package. If PQ sent out a correct 2 part disc that people could put in their book and bin the first, chances are that the discs would flood e-bay. I think they've done the right thing - after all, who owns this book and keeps listening to the CD? I got mine out, ripped the interview to my computer and listen to that to avoid ruining the disc. |

No, you miss the whole point. They should send out a replacement to CD containing the whole interview to anyone who requests it and has a proof of purchase. This could then be inserted into the book. If they want the original CD back that's fine, but they can pay the return postage. I am a collector, I don't care if I only listen to the CD only once, the fact is there was an error in the production of this multimedia package and it should be put right. Your e-bay comment is irrelevant. |

Robbieboy wrote: Apologies, but could you please explain what "copy & paste from your temporary internet files" means? Thanks. ================= Your internet browser stores html files, pictures, music and videos into a termporary folder somewhere. Check your settings. But this download should just be a matter of right click and "save as." If it isn't, then you can even play the file in Firefox and do a "save page as" from the file menu. |
Robbieboy 21.11.2011 16:00 |
Thank you, The Real Wizard. I was of course familiar with what temporay internet files are (and what copy and paste means) , but I hadn't heard the phrase "copy and paste from your temporary internet files" used as an instruction for downloading. Cheers. |

Enjoy the interview .. it's a goodie. I've had it on tape for years, but it sounded like it was a 10th gen tape. |

Thanks for the explanation. I was unable to download for a while - when I click the link with the Internet Browser, it just played the interview and the right click does not have the Save As option. After your explanation, I used Firefox and when I clicked the link, the Play or Save box came up immediately. |

@kurgan: I think you're looking at it as a purely 'consumer law' case, which is correct, but I think you are not seeing the wider picture and the further problems which will happen, as have done in other cases such as the Bowie one I mentioned leaving QP in a tricky situation. |
