Hi Everybody,
A generous member of Dimeadozen recently offered a fantastic show from Brian's Back to the light Tour.
As everybody can't access to Dime I've decided to reupload it for Queenzone.
According to Queenconcerts there's another recording for this show in good quality but incomplete.
This one is a very good audience recording, from the master and complete.
Last interesting point, Let me out was played this night!
From TXT file Brian May Band World Theater St. Paul, Mn. USA 14 October 1993 This is an audience recording done by Tom Fisher. I got the master from the person who got his masters after his passing. I would give it an 8 on the audience scale. I transferred it to CD from cassttte and indexed it myself. Nakamichi MR-2 Cassette Deck > Tascam CD-RW700 Standalone CD recorder > EAC > FLAC 8. No artwork, but I included a scan of a backstage pass, a picture taken backstage and a ticket stub. Set list: 1. The Dark/Back To The Light 2. Driven By You 3. Tie Your Mother Down 4. Love Token 5. Headlong 6. Love Of My Life 7. '39 8. Let Your Heart Rule Your Head 9. Too Much Love Will Kill You Spike Edney keyboards solo 10. Since You've Been Gone 11. Now I'm Here/Guitar Extravagance/Resurrection w/ Cozy Powell drums solo 1812 Overture Bohemian Rhapsody reprise Resurrection reprise 12. Brian May Band introduction 13. Let Me Out 14. We Will Rock You 15. Applause/God (The Dream Is Over) 16. Dude, no offense but considering how little FLAC you've shared as opposed to even your YouTube sourced uploads as well as numerous concerts in MP3 that are out there in lossless form, it's no surprise people are already coming to expect you to upload crap-lossy files instead of trying to conform to current higher quality standards. Perhaps if you'd cut down on the lossy uploads, people's expectations on yourself would likely change for the less cynical :-) |

L-R-TIGER1994 wrote: 1 show in FLAC for 15 shows in FLAC?that's not a good deal,or I share them in mp3 or some of them in FLAC. In a thread where a master was shared and two other tapers said they're willing to share their masters, you want to wave commonly available recordings in people's faces and make them beg you for them. There's the true spirit of sharing if I ever heard it... converting to lossy because you're not getting what you want. Don't act like you have some kind of bounty that you and only you have. Get over yourself, you pompous ass. Share or shut up. Do you realize that you're precisely 33.3% of the reason why I've stopped sharing roios here? |

Maybe if you actually read the things I wrote and took them at least relatively seriously, you'd slowly come to understand the issues... i.e. attack the problem, not the person. >you are 99% the reason why MANY people I know don't post here anymore I've tracked down tapers and shared more recordings here with confirmed lineage than anyone else, and encouraged people to have quality standards so that tapers who aren't Queen fans will feel comfortable sharing their recordings here. Sorry for all the wrong I've done. I should have known better. |

Sorry for all the wrong I've done. I should have known better. Yeah. Shame on you Sir GH. Stop tracking down masters and just start sharing 96kb MP3's like every one else on other sites do. They take up less space, take less time to upload and download and don't need special software to convert like shit FLACs do. You SHOULD be sorry for all the wrong you've done and you SHOULD know better! BTW. Can anyone here help me with my sarcasm issues please? ;) |

(Hi Oli! - got your PM - my appologies - will get in touch with you!!) Nice, nice, nice !! I should find my posts with the different Brian May bootlegs I shared and start a "central thread" with the Brian May concerts, an index, just like I did with the 2005/2006 concerts and started to do with the 2008 concerts, so that people can post a concert and include the link in this index. This is truly missing in the sharing section ! Many thanks for you offer Jeroen! Back to the topic now, I'm going to start an index in the next hours/days, feel free to add anything you want to add if that belongs with the subject, which will be Brian May quality shows. I remember having seen people posting Brian live collaborations and appearances here and there, from before 2000 and after 2000, I think they could be added too to that index, it should be a nice addition. So, meet all up on Queenzone within a few hours and start helping !! If the success is there in the following weeks, let's hope we could start a Roger Taylor series too ! I'm dealing with the John Deacon recordings ;o) Regards, Olivier, Belgium. If you don't want to feel annoyed with a lossless/lossy discussion, don't read the following ! Sorry LR-Tiger but I must say I'm not interested in your mp3s too, as you know. To be fully honest, I thought you could share some lossless recordings here, as I know your will to share. Queenzone is full of a "sharing spirit", not a "trading spirit", so if you decide to upload 15 shows, then feel free to do so, but if you start messing because you can't offer 15 shows against one, then this is more like trading, not sharing. I did like you once, sharing one bootleg (with quality standards) against one QPR show, and the concept was good, but I don't think people are convinced you will upload somrthing really lossless and therefore interesting. But I think you know your reputation. To be clear and honest once again, you are some of the reason I'm slightly getting fed up with uploading. After the recent flood of mp3 I find that Queenzone is losing a lot of the quality it had won over the past few years. And not being a follower, but when I found this forum a few years ago, it's Bob and its shares that made me share too, I started sorting out my bootlegs to offer them here with the same quality standards, to offer new ones and to replace the older shares, that were lossy or from the mp3 era (long ago !). I decided I could try and bring something here but was too shy to do so, and didn't know how to proceed, then the light came from those people here with quality standards, I found it was not that difficult to follow the move and help people maintaining a community safe from very inferior material. I could replace all my mp3 collection I had from the old days even without an incredibly fast internet connection and so on, just a little reading and curiosity. Of course we won't sue Queenzone for not banning mp3s, this debate is over as we know, but this post shows once again that a good lot of people are concerned about quality. The fact that you feel attacked with every post you make with lossy material shows only that. The fact that up to now you are the only one defending this here in front of people who want to keep quality shows also that. I can understand you feel upset if you still want to get stuck to the mp3 format, and don't want to open yourself to quality. If you did, you would be really precious to Queenzone and the Queen collecting world in my opinion. But it's everyone's choice, and yours is yours, let's hope this could evolve to something better. So that was for my honest reaction. Sorry for attacking you, first time I think I "attack" someone personnally, but be sure that it's more the attitude and not the guy I shoot bullets at, of course. If someone else reacted the same way than yours, I would feel all the same. You still have my respect for all the rest of you, just as anyone. End of the discussion (hopefully), sorry for being annoying to anyone else. |
on my way up 17.04.2009 14:16 |
In recent times almost no sharing took place. That's truly a pity. I know many people taped during the last QPR tour but very few of these recordings get shared here. Fans from other bands share a whole lot more. For example: I exactly know the itinerary of Bob Dylan's most recent tour because every day a generous taper shares his recording of last night's show at dime. I want to make clear I don't blame anyone for not sharing on here, I do not do that either but I feel we miss out on a lot because of that. Of course, we miss out on a lot of recordings. If we, as Queen fans, would share more it would be easier to get a nice collection. In the end everyone would benefit. Now, every Queen fan is just worried about his/her own collection and not about the community, not about other Queen fans(potential friends). We could have more open conversations about Queen live with more knowledge. In the end, isn't it the music and the love for the music of these wonderful musicians that is most important? The last few years I've managed to get a lot of Queen shows. What I suggest is that WE as a group try to find agreement about uploading material of high quality. We could for example start to upload some very well known shows that haven't been uploaded in lossless here on QZ. That way we could get rid of the MP3. And after that first period WE could agree about letting out some more rare stuff. In the end everyone would get everything. The only thing that we need is the courage to upload rarities. Many fans complain about the lack of interesting Queen releases lately. I agree with them. But isn't it exactly what Queen fans do too? Keep it all for themselves? How can you complain about Queen not releasing material when you have an item in your basement you don't even want to tell other Queen fans about? We need a change in mentality. People like Pittrek have shown they're willing to upload shows. Sir GH has given the perfect example in the past but nobody followed it. I'm willing to jump on the bandwagon. Who else? |
riccardo 17.04.2009 14:39 |
