London O2 Arena, 13th October 2008 Full concert wav files I had to divide the original 2,3 GB wav file into 16 files (1-2 songs in each file), because of Rapidshare upload limit. The second half of the recording is better, or at least louder (I turned up the recording volume a bit). People were singing, talking, shouting and clapping around me, as you will hear... but hey, it was a rock concert, I couldn’t ask everyone to shut up...:) I don’t have time to create separate files for each song (creating 16 files from the original was more than enough for me), or to convert to FLAC, or to normalize the volume, etc., if anyone wants to play with these, just go ahead. The files are big, because of the settings of the recorder. I recorded the Cardiff gig with different settings, so that file is smaller. If anyone is interested, I will share the Cardiff wav files too. You know where to find the setlist. link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link link Enjoy! Pal |

Thanks, this is fantastic! I'm no sound engineer at all, and I hope someone will take care of these files. And the Cardiff show is as much appeciated as this one, so please take your time and upload it, too! |

Took a quick listen and I think it has excellent sound. Absolutely worth being worked upon! |

Thanks a lot !!! Really nice ! I'm sure skilled people here would be happy to work on those files ! Before this information is lost forever, can you give us the lineage of your recording ? What recording device and mikes were you using and so on ? Thanks a lot for that share. Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Maybe someone can create torrent? |
Penetration_Guru 16.10.2008 15:28 |
Mate, it'll take me until Sunday just to download it all, then I'll want to nail them all back together, split them into proper tracks. That's before I even think about converting to FLAC & torrenting back for you. Plus there's the added question of which source I prefer. |

After a quick listen this seems superior to the other (MP3) source. What do you think? |

OK, regarding the technical details: I recorded the O2 gig with my Sony PCM-D50 linear recorder, with the built in mics, at 48.00 kHz / 24bit (which was obviously not necessary, but...), from the left of the centre, about 30 metres from the stage. In Carddiff I used 44.10 kHz / 16 bit, I was probably a bit closer to the stage. |
Queenrockyou 16.10.2008 16:54 |
OK thanks a lot for that info, which was needed ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

Thanks for uploading. Shame about the screamer next to you, but it sounds very good otherwise. |

Even when you downsample them to 44.1/16 from 48/24 or even 96/24, the sound quality still translates (sounds) better than something recorded at 44.1/16 straight. Strange as it sounds, it's true. Thanks otherwise for uploading your recording! :-) If you want, I'll rework these as FLAC files and torrent them for you once I get all of them downloaded. |

That would be super - I'd certainly appreciate not having to d/l 2.4 gig - my ISP are already going to kick my ass this month! |

Listening to the Cardiff files - which I will upload tomorrow - I do feel the difference between the higher and the lower resolution... anyway, I had to choose 44,1/16 in Cardiff, otherwise I could not have recorded the full gig... |

Yeah, as an occassional bootlegger myself, I know the pain of having to sacrifice some quality in order to get the whole gig on disk/card. That's why, when Queen and Paul Rodgers come back to Canada next year, I plan to upgrade to the Edirol R-09HR AND get one or two SDHC cards with more storage than the one I have right now (4GB) before I go see them again, since the R-09HR does 96/24. I also plan to upgrade my microphones before then as well. |

(and yes: I forgot to take the extra card to London and Cardiff... shame on me...) the 2 shows were almost 4 GB, and I'm happy I made this sacrifice, so now I have both shows... By the way, the audience around me were much better in Cardiff, so I think it was worth it to record that show too... and it still sounds quite good in my opinion. You'll see (hear) it tomorrow...:), I'm just uploading the files (8 files this time) to Rapidshare. |

Need I remind you Evan that you are the reason some bootleggers do NOT want to upload their boots around at the moment? I know of quite a few boots that are trade-only for that reason partly, but I am not permitted to speak about them ;-) |

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that when you say 'Sir GH talk'. But in any case, YES, not permitted to speak about them :-) I even have a sample from one of those shows from one of those said bootleggers ;-) And no, you may not have it. |

Maruga wrote: Thank you very much... Is anyone going to split the tracks and convert them to flac? I will be, along with Cardiff. I'm just unfortunately busy half the day with being at work (like now, atm - I'm on a break though as I write this) I'm up to about part 9, 10 on the O2 downloads. Soon as all of those are done, I'll load them into Adobe Audition 1.5, re-join and re-split them properly by track, and then go from there. They will be uploaded as a torrent first, with Mediafire links to follow (and NO I will not do Rapidshit uploads....those are uber evil!) |

Thanks for sharing this! I would Flac and torrent this but if there is a "cleaned up" version on the way I'll wiat for that :) |

Quick update: I'm getting work nearly fully done on this concert, so I can make it a torrentable FLAC download for yas soon :-) Should be up within maybe an hour or so, not too longer really, from now. I apologize for the delay btw. I actually wasn't home last night, otherwise it would have been up by earlier today :P EDIT: link |
