Thanks a lot for your share! I can't remember where I downloaded it, but I have a 24bit Flac version of this concert in very good quality (FM or Tely broadcast). I'm at work now, but I'll check it out as soon as I'm home :-) |

Here's LMEY from the 24bit vers: link What do you think? FM broadcast, judged by the digital noises. I have no lineage or information about this one. It also includes several Interviews with band and crew. Greetings, Olli |

pittrek wrote: Definitely worth downloading.Honestly, are you sure? I once heard a sample of CLTCL, and it was horribly bad (with that horrible crackling noise) compared to the radio broadcast that was shared here. That said, thanks for all your recent shares, Olivier. They have been most helpful in the ongoing search for the best recording of each show. |
pittrek 10.04.2008 11:59 |
I don't know, I didn't download it yet :-) Maybe it would be better to write something like "it's definitely worth to download it and compare it to my version " |

Rrrrrrrrrrradio bandeirantes apresenta o maior espetáculo do ano. Hahaha. Oh, dear, it's...you know, kind of melancholic to listen to this concert, held in the period when Brazil was in its transition to a democracy and the people were full of hope, and now see what a wreck this country has become. Even the language was quite different, it had a charm to it, and we've lost it. We lost it all. But the concert is really good, if for nothing else than the stunning singing by the crowd in "love of my life", a song which, you know, kind of symbolized a whole lot of things for the people back then. Though I do like it when Freddie manages to sing the song and the crowd lets him do it - his rendition of this song in Montreal, 1981, is brilliant, there's no other word for it. Rrrrrrradio Bandeirantes. Cool to listen to "r" still pronounced like american (?) English "tt", just like in "le[tt]er", in the beginning of the word. Freddie does that in Hammersmith Odeon, 1975, doesn't he? I think it's "In the Lap Of the Gods" (it's so rrrrrrisky...but...lol). Kind of reminded me of that scene on "My Fair Lady", featuring Audrey Hapburn as the rogue, when Higgins start to deplore the way the English language had been used by the people, especially the youth and the poor - one of his points is, exactly, that besides dropping the "hs" along the way - 'ead for head, and so on - they also pronounced "r" as I have described. So what was a sign of high education here - that pronounce of r, right in the beginning of the sentence, as the American (?) English "le[tt]er" - was a sign of unruled, undisciplined, uneducated use of the English language in "My Fair Lady". Of course my wonderings have no social or linguistic value. Just random thoughts. It's a VERY good performance by Brian May, and it's a pity that the audio, even the radio broadcast, was not that great. He does a good job throughout the whole concert and some amazing soloing. Freddie delivers a very restrained, even moderate performance as compared to others of that period - he was still trying to take care of his voice. If you listen to him in Montreal in the end of that year you'll notice the difference - somebody to love and love of my life are given truly blistering performances that really beat the hell out of me. There are moments in these songs in the Montreal gig that he hits what would be mezzo-soprano notes if he were a female. And he does it with a very clear articulation, clean smooth delicate voice and quite loud! Brian May is the devil himself in Montreal, he's playing at such a brisk pace, he and Roger, in fact, that it's trully mind-boggling that he didn't miss as many notes as one'd expect from anyone and doesn't harm the structure of the songs or even their logic - he makes a great "choice of notes", very musical, logical, as well as Freddie. Brian is in great shape in São Paulo as well as in Montreal, and as far as I'm concerned, he is not as dedicated to practice as many other guitar players and - that's a pity - he has been struck with pretty serious diseases and illnesses ever since they started the band. A trully remarkable talent, always very professional, focused, restrained and serious on stage, which was not easy considering he had to share it with...that thing. lol The video of this concert in São Paulo is REALLY AWESOME FOR BRIAN FANS. He's the one who appears the most because he was the idol in Brazil back then, not Freddie - people kept shouting "Brian" throughout the whole gig. lol In Rock and Rio it was still pretty much the same, though 4 years later - Brian still represented Queen for the Brazilian audience. Kind of funny. |

Are there any chanches to get it from a torrent or mediafire? |
Queenrockyou 16.04.2008 10:57 |
I usually don't use mediafire anymore, because I had a lot of problems with my uploads being deleted without reasons only a few days later and so on, and errors during uploads forcing me to do it all over again. Anyway, I got a deal for you, I upload this one on mediafire and you upload the Providence 1980 on mediafire or rapidshare here after having downloaded Maruga's torrent. Is that a good deal for you ? This way, the rest of the Queenzoners will benefit from this too ! Tell me what you think about that. Regards, Olivier, France. |

A mediafire re-upload is on its way. Check out soon !! Part 4 from CD1 in those rapidshare links seems to be working now. Regards, Olivier, France. |

Why do you think Brian was loved in Brazil more than any other country? Or is that too bold a statement to make? it's a pity that the audio, even the radio broadcast, was not that great.Check out this version instead. It's missing a few songs, but the quality is much better: link The Gypsy Eye bootleg shared in this topic is a much worse copy of the radio broadcast. Not only is this one from several generations of tape, but this particular bootleg company is the type to purposely destroy recordings. |

In this great show, somebody to love is cut in the middle, when freddie sings: ... find me so... soooo..... sooooomebody in the final part... In other version of live, there is a voice of speaker who says: "in directa from Morumbi stadium ...." It's true?????? |
Marcos Napier 15.08.2008 22:58 |
This voice over was heard in the TV broadcast only I think (unless radio Bandeirantes also broadcasted it using the same source of the TV), it was done by Heron Domingues the same guy who hosted the Miss Brazil contests and he's the same guy that does the interview seen in some copies of the video. It appears maybe two or 3 times in the whole concert (2 I think though), those I can remember is this in STL and before NIH. There is an almost unlistenable version of the 2nd night, with some songs (the first 2 or 3) from a radio broadcast (Jovem Pan radio) and the rest is from the audience where you can barely listen to anything but crowd noise, if you listen to it with headphones you can tell there is a band playing somewhere (left channel mostly) but you can barely tell what is being played. |
