Right, so I should've thought about the title of the sample I uploaded a bit more.. Quuen - Young Nobles Of Rock. Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan. May 1st 1975. Lineage: Silvers> ? >FLAC level 8 > WAV > Har-Bal > Wavelab > WAV > FLAC level 8 Please correct the lineage if I've got it wrong. **As always, I have restored/remastered this FOR MY OWN USE. I hope the community sees it as enough of an upgrade to want it, but if you don't like it, please don't download it. Firstly, this recording has been crushed by excessive compression (sometime since the introduction of digital limiters, so an uncompressed master SHOULD exist), and it's all but impossible to undo. However, by correcting the equalisation I have minimised the effect and increased the peak-to-average ratio (dynamic range) by about 4dB. As the original has a ratio of about 9dB (!), this represents a significant difference. Please note that if you are comparing this version with the original, it will sound quieter. The bulk of the equalisation was done with Har-Bal. I then applied high- and low-pass filters with a Waves Renaissance 2-band eq and brought it back up to level (-0.2dB) with a Waves L3 limiter in Wavelab. I have re-tracked the songs, corrected the balance between left and right channels and applied new fades. The rock n roll medley, as requested, has been combined into one track, as has Son and Daughter. Very few eq boosts were used (boosts, like mp3s, are bad), and...NO DENOISERS!! ** Please don't forget to visit the original uploader's site to say thanks. |

Amazing... this is one of the greatest posts in the history of Queenzone. It's the first complete recording of an early Queen show in truly excellent quality.
stark wrote: Lineage: Silvers> ? >FLAC level 8 > WAV > Har-Bal > Wavelab > WAV > FLAC level 8 Please correct the lineage if I've got it wrong.I'd just replace the question mark with WAV, as that's the only way to create FLAC that I'm aware of! |

Great, great concert! The sound quality is simple superb and Queen are in best shape. It sounds so clean and powerfull that you forgot the real age of this concert. I think one of the best audience recordings from Queen at all. Freddie is pure magic. |

This recording is absolutely bloody incredible; finally 'Hangman' fully sounds like the lost masterpiece it is. The whole show is breathtaking (I have a shitty bootleg recording of this concert, and found it nigh-unlistenable); this is very much appreciated. You are most froody. |
fly 10.09.2007 10:31 |
Thanks a lot stark! I like all your remasters. This would maby sound silly, but I would ask anyway. I've been waiting for a long time for this "queen bootleg thing" and I wanna know every detail about it. My question is this: do you people burn to a CD the ORIGINAL bootleg version and the REMASTERED(I mean remasters by stark)? And If you burn both versions, I wanna know this: Do you use the same COVER ART for the remastered version bootleg or do you make new cover art for the remastered version? |
