There are currently NO plans for a Queen tour. The 3-year cooperation with Paul Rodgers has ended. However, Roger has mentioned a possible solo tour earlier this year (most likely with Taylor Hawkins) and Brian seems to like that idea...
Summary of the last Queen + Paul Rodgers tour [2008]
ROGER TAYLOR! Very powerful drumming, very nice to the fans after the gigs etc.!
very long gigs, around 135 minutes in average was more than we had hoped for
better setlist than on previous tours; also not so many breaks between songs
excellent intro at some gigs - Surf's Up was a terrific opener even for non-fans!
AKOM with Roger on vocals, also Radio GaGa with Paul on vocals and live drums
building the drumkit on the B-stage was a great idea
better guitar solo than in 2005, also no painful Chinese Torture noises :-)
quite a lot of surprises although in the end the setlist became predictable as always
songs: Surf's Up, Cosmos Rockin', '39, C-lebrity, AKOM, Drum solo, Bijou
better lights, great screen although some of the animations were embarassing!
Paul looked really bored and tired; it was pretty much obvious this was the last tour with him
Brian and Paul often didn't feel like giving autographs or taking photos with fans
the Hammer To Fall intro (Brian's idea, I think) was very boring
slightly weaker vocal performances by Brian and Roger
I'm not sure but Jamie's backing vocals sounded somehow strange?
Paul kept forgetting words in Radio Ga Ga, Brian kept messing up the short simple solo in All Right Now
overall slightly lower attendance - mainly in Budapest and (surprise!) Italy
songs: I Want To Break Free, Seagull
Overall I rated this tour a bit higher than the one in 2005, mainly because of the new songs (all of which worked really well!) and longer concerts. I have attended 14 gigs and I enjoyed every single of them. Special thanks to all my friends in Italy, I felt like home there ;-)
