rare live

Posted on 01.03.2004 21:50:01
hey gang

anyone know any decent reliable places i can get rare live tracks, kinda like the ones that were on Mr Scullys old site, b4 they made him take it down?

i had a load on my old computer, but its too old for e-mail and uploading them etc. etc.

such as "Rock It" and others like that

thanks for the help in adavance

---addition---

just checked my old Winamp list on my old PC, and it also included:

*the Queen version of Polar Bear
*Bruce Dickinson/Dream Theatre/Brian May - Smoke On The Water
*My Life Has Been Saved (original version)
*Heaven For Everyone (The Cross/Freddie vocals)
*Action This Day (live)
*A Dozen Red Roses... 12"/extended version
*various BBC tracks

obviously, I'll keep checking kazaa etc. as always, but any help on finding these would be appreciated

I used to have loads of these rare tracks too untill my computer blew up! I'm still not sure which ones I have and don't have!

I know for sure I have a live version of Rock It from Frankfurt '82 originally downloaded from the old Queen of Rock!

*the Queen version of Polar Bear - heard, will have to check if I still have it.
*Bruce Dickinson/Dream Theatre/Brian May - Smoke On The Water - ditto
*My Life Has Been Saved (original version) - ditto
*Heaven For Everyone (The Cross/Freddie vocals) - ditto
*Action This Day (live) - Frankfurt '82
*A Dozen Red Roses... 12"/extended version - maybe got
*various BBC tracks - pretty sure I lost :-(

I will have a look at the weekend when I have time and if I still have em I'll try and sort out getting em to ya!

cheers, thanx alot. thats a lot more help than i expected!

as a kid i used to look everywhere for these, and, like u say, found most of em here, and others from various mp3 sites. but it seems nowadays, most of the decent Queen mp3 sites just dont exsist anymore. shame really...coz im fed up of waiting for box sets, well - kind of!

Yeah, I really wish that the Poker server was still going - I really miss that - a great source of rare stuff. I'm not really a fan of the hub. I really didn't abuse the ftp as much as I could, I was pretty lax in downloading things thinking that it would be around for ever. Now its gone, I'm really kicking myself I didn't download more.

As I said, I'll have a look this weekend and see what I've got!

cheers pal

same here...I'd use the hub, but I do't really have enough relative Queen stuff. as im only 17, i got plenty of Queen and solo, but bar a couple of rare bits im proud of, most of my 'rare' stuff is the usual...b-sides, demos (Robbery, Feelings, Feelings etc.), BBC sessions, live stuff, Fred and MJ, The Cross etc. etc.

Why don't you like the hub? The QZ server and the poker server were great means to share files but it's virtually impossible to find another host who can share that much for free. In the hub you have to share your own files in order to be a part of the community, I think that is only fair. You don't need to share extremely rare stuff, it's only not allowed to share officially released material. Nobody cares if you download more than you share, the hubbies are friendly and not the least bit elite. You should try it before dismissing it.

Its not solely that you have to share - its partly due to my internet connection. It cuts off after two hours and I'm not always on it. I read somewhere that you can loose downloads easily due to this and it can cause trouble for other users. With an ftp server I could pick up and stop where I wanted. So its me, not you!! If this situation has changed, please let me know and I will definately consider it! If I had broadband I would definately join up and be downloading all the time!

Hello David, if you have to pay per minute, the hub is too expensive but you definitely don't lose any downloads through disconnecting. The download automatically resumes when you re-join provided that the other user is online and has a free slot. You can download the same file from various users and resume from anyone who is online. There are no minimum times you have to be in the hub, some people stay away for months or shut down whenever they burn a CD. The advantage of the hub is the chat function, you can ask for whatever files you need (or offer your own files when somebody else asks)
