ripping audio from DVDs and Innuendo art

Posted on 17.02.2004 14:40:44
two questions:

1) does anyone know any free, easy to use and easy to obtain software that allows you to rip audio, whether it be video or just plain audio off of a DVD so it can be burned as a normal cd?

and...

2) does anyone have any information on the Innuendo artwork. i was under the impression that it was original artwork but adapted slightly by the artist for the album and singles. is this true?

cheers

Give it time son! Your topic has only been on here for a few hours! :-)

To record DVDs I simply use an audio lead and record the headphone socket. Old fashioned and time consuming, but I prefer it!

See here for more details: http://www.queenzone.com/queen/forum/topic_view.asp?Q_FORUM_ID=1&Q_FORUM_NAME=Queen&Q_FORUM_TOPIC_ID=312738&TOPIC_SUBJECT=DVD+to+wave+format

As for Grandville's artwork, this was also discussed on QueenZone a while back: http://www.queenzone.com/queen/forum/topic_view.asp?Q_FORUM_ID=1&Q_FORUM_NAME=Queen&Q_FORUM_TOPIC_ID=308128&TOPIC_SUBJECT=Grandville+art

Hope that helps!

thanku loads. i found out about Grandville...i stopped being stupid and remebered i first read bout him in the Innuendo booklet...im using that artwork for my art a level stuff

and cheers for the dvd stuff. i fancied whacking the new foo's dvd onto CD...any1 got it? if so, any1 else think it was a pretty silly idea to include an audio only set-list that is almost identical to the video set list on the same disk? i wuld hav thought it wuld have been better to put the audio only on a normal cd, ubt - nevermind

Yeah, the Foos DVD is awesome. IMO, the Iceland gig is better than Toronto, although Toronto is funny for Dave's interaction with the band - "I'll suck your dick after the show! I'm trying to talk to 8000 people right now!" and also the bird before For All The Cows, great stuff. I was thinking of ripping the show for meself too!

true, I like the acoustic set, where's hes tryin to explain to the audience about how they choose their songs for the acoustic, and someone suggests "Stacked Actors" lol.

Yer, the Iceland gig is cool, I like the harmonica/band improv in the middle of Stacked Actors I think?

Anywho, IMO i still rekon it wuld hav been better to put that on an audio CD. as nice as the ever changing rare photos are, its annoying a touch.

ANYWHO....again, I was reading bout the Have A Cigar duet with Bri and the Foo's, and does Taylor Hawkins actually sing it? sez on a Taylor Hawkins site that he does. but the Foo's website sez "some vocals"

shed some light anyone?

Anywho, lol :-) Can tell you listen to Salty Flakes in the morning! Can I call you Ratty?

Yeah, Taylor singing Cigar really suprised me, I always though it was Dave! But it is true he sang the vocals. It has to be all the vocals really as there aren't any backing or harmony vocals! Great cover, probably better than the Floyd version...
