Hi everyone. I'm starting to work on this new section which is about bass and guitat tabs, and piano and vocal sheets, of what the guys played live in the songs, because the arrangements changed (bass was sometimes more melodic, in the studio there were often more than four guitars and only one live - except HTF and SP -, Freddie changed gradually the piano parts respect the studio version, STL and Bo Rhap have many differences - mostly improvements - in the 80s live versions, and the vocal harmony arrangement also varied since there were three or four people singing live and in the studio some Freddie's songs had six or seven part harmonies). So I'd like to ask all of you if you'd be interested in: a) What I just said b) Songs that weren't played live - Leaving Home, All God's People, full version of 'Black Queen' - arranged for piano, bass, guitar and three voices, and I'll put the respective sheets and tabs c) Fingerstyle arrangements - to play Fred's piano parts in an acoustic guitar - d) All of those Thanks

a) yeah cool idea b) only, in my opinion, if you could think like them and imagine how they would do it. Some songs would be all but impossible I reckon! c) Love of my life - live version you mean???!!! I've got a great music and Tab book called Brian May - Super Rock Guitarist which has the tab for the Live Killers version of Brighton Rock. Which is nice! Long out of print though I think.

Yeah, it sounds like a great idea! Mr. Scully told me about this the other day - what are you going to do exactly, summarize the changes for each tour? As you may or may not know, I have been developing a tab page (for an age now!) containing studio albums and official live releases. Wouldn't mind if I gave you a bit of a hand would you?! I already have a few live tabs from Live Killers (inc. that BR one!) and was gonna start work on a Wembley/LM transcription.

> only, in my opinion, if you could think like them and imagine how they would do it. It's a hard task but not impossible. There's somewhere the midi of how would be Fairy Feller's Masterstroke live. It's a very Queen arrangement: piano plays a combination of what piano and harpsichord did in the studio version, guitar is rhythm & lead, instead of those multi-tracked harmonies we just have one by Roger. Some projects can be easy because we have similar songs arranged for stage. 'Jealousy' could be either a piano version only, like Take My Breath Away, or a 'Love Of My Life' kind of thing. Talking about that, it woudln't hurt if I tried a piano-guitar-bass-drums arrangement of 'Love Of My Life'. That part of the project is more ambicious, and we probably would need someone (like a cover band) to record the song with those arrangements in order to give visitors an idea of how would it sound. > Love of my life - live version you mean???!!! Brian's version is not exactly that. He played different notes and the instrumental spacers had different chords. What I mean is closer to the Extreme version. > Summarize the changes for each tour? No, it's more writing tabs and scores of the songs in their live versions (of course we had to pick just one or two versions of each one since all of them had little changes specially in the guitar solos). The idea is the combination of two concepts: a) most people look for tabs because they want to play exactly like that version (or else they'd probably just figure out the chords and make their own arrangement). b) many people prefer live versions of queen songs than the studio ones. So the concept here is to put those tabs and sheets. Note that some piano parts evolved through the years and what Freddie played in 'Bo Rhap' in the Magic Tour is different to what he did in the studio take, there are more ornaments live. > Wouldn't mind if I gave you a bit of a hand would you?! That'd be great, thanks. Two heads think more than one :)
