Where I can get Queen's Knebworth concert? It rules...

Posted on 12.01.2004 20:40:04
...and where can get Live Aid too?

Posted on 13.01.2004 02:03:58
you can get them from any bootleg collector, but you should know that the Knebworth video avalaible is shot from private camera...
Live Aid was recorded from tv broadcasting...

Is there anyway an original shot from Knebworth...?

Posted on 15.01.2004 16:54:03
Yes, on the Queen archives... but -if I'm not wrong- is professionally recorded with just 4 cameras... that would be the reason not to be released officially... remember that Wembley was shot with 14 cameras!

hmm... I meant Knebworth CD not video...
I didn't say that ^^

4 cameras isn't a problem! On the Led Zeppelin DVD, much of that material was shot with 4 cameras, or even less. The London 1970 show was shot with TWO cameras. And guess what? It's one of the most amazing things I've seen in my life.

Knebworth on 4 cameras would certainly be releaseable if they had the complete show. However, even though it was a much better performance than the second night at Wembley, if it's released, it would probably be slammed for not having the same quality as Wembley.

hi there,

Posted on 13.03.2004 12:17:17
Knebworth is available on CD in the bootleg market (complete audience recording). I think I recall Greg Brookes saying that they had the whole audio for the gig (soundboard) in the archives, but not all the video - I am wrong?

I have just been watching the home video of knebworth and the pictures from the big screen are shot on far more than 4 cameras, surely all of these cameras will have been recording ?. It really looks like a great show and I would personally rather watch this on home vid than Wembley on DVD, it will be a real pity if this never sees the light of day. As for Greg Brooks, one minute they have all of the audio but not all of the video, next they have the video but not the audio. Best to just ignore him.

for sure they recordered this show in professional quality, take a look at the 'rare live' video, there is a small footage from 'radio ga ga' at knebworth

I also find this weird.. I watched the gig some days ago. I guess there's about 8-14 cameras filming. And thats enough for a release IMO.

I think the concert looks very good, and as it was their last It SHOULD be released if they find the mastertapes. !!!

But on Rare Live you see only shots from far (and from 1 or 2 cameras).

Posted on 29.03.2004 19:28:40
Yeah that's right...
and the bits of Knebworth video that is on Rare Live video are mainly to the audience...

Also the cameras to the video screen feed wouldn't (I'm guessing) by recorded individually as well. So editing won't be possible.

Posted on 30.03.2004 18:28:27
That is part of the beauty of the video screen it is unedited so you get unusual shots. I personally hate heavily produced and directed shows where you know what shot is coming next before you have even seen it.
This is what Led Zep done with the screen shots from Earls Court and they are great. The original shots from the Knebworth screen are fine and are definitely worthy of release. Actually it would have been nice as an extra on the Wembley DVD, maybe instead of that 'Brand new' documentary 'A beautiful day' of which half of is Knebworth backstage anyway.

but that is not what QP thinks...

Live Magic has some song wich are recorded from the knebworth concert (i think it's almost all of them only 4 or 5 number aren't)
And yes Mr Scully there are some footage on the rare live video and on the docu. champions of the world as well (if i'm right).
So maybye it will be released as a bonus on a other concert that will be on DVD who no's
