Hi Yesterday I've got video from Tokyo 24.04.1979. The picture is almost excellent! When I hear Teo Torriatte I almost cry - this fantastic atmosphere! This audience...Amazing! And Freddie also sing little different melodys in Bo Rhap In Killer Queen instead "Perfume came naturally from Paris" He sing "Perfume came naturally from Tokyo"! Fantastic. Is this possible that there exist full video from this concert beside this TV show? I think Yes. Somewhere hidden in the Japanes archives... Full concert from Paris 28.02.1979 in future DVD will be great but it's not the same...This Japanes fans...

Tokyo 24.4.1979 is a recent Japanese bootleg DVD. I didn't check (although I have it) but doesn't it simply come from a low-generation video tape from the TV broadcast? Because this part of the gig was on TV in Japan.

In the end of this short document, after We Are The Champions, there is some special video efect. And also I think this documet don't have good editing in the end of each song; all montage was released quickly for special TV program. In some songs we also see added some Japanes subtitle. Must be more material before the montage for TV, propably in archives. The video Love Of My Life was also from this concert, right (expect sound from another show). So why it's not in this special Japanese TV program, hmm? I think that there is only one explain - more video material might be exist ...

I believe Sheer Heart Attack from The Champions TV special is from this Tokyo 79 concert as well. This song has Freddie's voice in the worst shape I've ever heard!

Fred clearly had flu or something like that

When I hear Teo Torriatte I almost cry too... at how terrable it is ( Freds voice ), not quite as bad as Japan 82 though.

I loved the drums and Brian's piano on that one though. After the song ended Brian played a lovely arpeggio and my brother said "he should kick Freddie out of the piano"

IMO the best song performed of that dvd is Teo Torriate and the worst one is Boh Rhap...

No, I don't think it was a flu. They had been touring straight from the end of October. By April and May, his voice was shot. Could you sing like Freddie Mercury every second night for 4 months, and still sound like Freddie Mercury? :)

Freddie's voice was never as bad as it was in Japan 79, especially by the end of the tour. The difference between 79 and 82 is that Freddie was attempting more of the higher notes, and failing miserably. Just listen to Play The Game and Body Language on the Tokyo 11-3-82 bootleg. No wonder they were cut from the official release. His voice was in pretty bad shape in Japan 82, but he he had a semitone more than in 79. That makes quite a difference in Queen songs to be able to hit that high A flat. He couldn't even try that in Sapporo 79.
