a hard life and opera

Posted on 09.10.2003 13:54:59
hello all. One year ago,I saw The Untouchables, B de Palma movie. When Robert de Niro listen to an opera and then he cries, it's the same melody as the intro of "it's a hard life" (I don't want my freedom...). Does anybody know which is this opera. As Freddie loved opera, I think he tooks from it but which opera?? thank you

Damn, I swear I knew it but I can't remember now. Isn't it Puccini?

Ruggero Lioncavallo is the composer, but I I can't write the name of the opera, although I can pronounce it

Well...thank you for the answer :). Going to look for Lioncavallo. Unknown composer for me.

Like Sebastian, I can pronounce it but I don't know to spell it. However, it's called "Paliachi" (pal-ya-chi) which means "The Clowns".

The correct spelling is "I Pagliacci", the composer is called Leoncavallo and the aria is "Vesti la giubba". You find all the correct info on Andy's page.
