OK, I hope you enjoy the new look of my site. I've also reworked the forum a bit so now you can also edit your posts (of course you're able to post only when you're logged in). All your logins/passwords from the past forum have been kept and are valid. If you weren't registered for the forum BUT registered for the list of collector, your login/password can be now used in the forum too. Basically all users are now kept in one database table. Should you have any questions or suggestions concerning the content of the site or graphics, please don't hesitate and let me know. Webmaster http://www.QueenConcerts.com

Hi, great site!
| Posted on 07.07.2003 10:05:02 | |
Hi, (again!) when I logged on, in the right corner it said Mr. Scully, not my login name. So when i posted in here for the very first time, it said Mr. Scully there too! So it was me who said "Hi, great site!", not Mr. Scully!

My apologies, Impromptu - and thanks for testing the forum, I have already found the mistake :-)

Typing text into this forum is very sluggish in Opera compared to IE, if you know what I mean. I like the new look of the site.

pma, you're the only Opera user that I know of :-) For some time I couldn't find out how to make Opera handle this whole site properly because that bitch can't understand the CSS definition of scrollbars (overflow: auto;) correctly. In the end I had to cheat a bit so the Opera version is not perfect (but works, that's important). (Btw. this particular post was typed in Opera 7.11 but I can't see any "sluggish" behaviour :-)

Hi Martin, I love the new design, as always it looks amazing. Keep it up mate :-)

not a bad effort at all! lol

Hi again Martin, I have posted a Trade ad, and the HTML code is shown instead of the links...
| Posted on 07.07.2003 20:53:13 | |
This is said on the guestbook. "HTML tags won't work so don't use them." I think it's the same thing here.

Nice design! Congratulations Mr.Scully!!!

Thanks, Henrique, you're right. There's probably a small mistake in my use of the eregi_replace() command... the links DO work but you have to place at least one space after them (not directly press Enter). They're displayed correctly now. Btw. I did allow some HTML code in the forum: bold and italic font. Links are displayed automatically everywhere (as long as at least once space follows :-) From today it's also possible to edit/delete your trading ads and access profiles of forum users.

Thanks for correcting my trading links, and also for correcting the link to my blacklist :-)

| Very nice design, Martin! Great work! Alot more busier than the old one and also that preview you sent. Nice font used for the title! Wonder what its called... :-) Nice to see you've got editing working in the forum - did you simply add it to your old one or have you completely reworked it? (i.e - will it be easy to intergrate into my forum - your old version :-) My computer has been gone (see QueenZone topic "Notice To All...") nearly a week now and this is a rare chance for me to get online and have a look around (I'm no longer in sixth form either, well I am at the moment!), and it was a nice suprise to see the new design! Appears to be no major niggles, so I'm gonna try and keep quiet! The only thing I might change is the use of iframes. Using 800x600 causes two scrolling bars - one for the main page and one for the iframe. So if the iframe is really long then its you also have to scroll down on the main bar to get to the bottom. Oh, I haven't kept quiet! Well, its not that major so I wont say anymore. And the only way I could see of fixing it is by getting rid of iframes and using a static background. But that will probably wreck the design, anyway. No, ignore all that. As I say, its not at all major and doesn't detract at all from the excellent content and sharp design. Keep up the good work! | Hi Dave :-) Yes, it's the font that you sent me. I made a completely new forum, this one took me maybe three hours to make. It's only about 8 kB of code, a very small but useful forum. If you haven't noticed, I'm not using any IFRAMES or FRAMES or anything like that :-) Just look at the source code :-) 1024/768 is a standard today and people who have something smaller will have to get used to a bit of scrolling :-) |
| Posted on 16.07.2003 13:53:54 | |
Well, as I said its a minor niggle - and I can see your point about 1024/768 (I knew someone would bring that up!). As I said, brilliant site - keep up the good work.

phpBB has always had many bugs which made it insecure. And it's a huge application, suitable for bigger sites. I made this forum in a couple of hours and it's more than sufficient for this site I think.

That niggle is now ironed out Martin! I can now view your gorgeous website in full 1024 res on my wonderful new 15"TFT monitor :-)
